Reflection
My lesson was about patterns and create their own pattern ,I started my
lesson by greeting the kids then taking the attendance , I asked my kids to
stand up then I said I want two girls, one boy, two girls ,one boy,… then I
asked them what can you see here??They said the girls and boys in order.
I explain the pattern more in the board and by using sticks and draw
flowers, leaves and colors.

What I liked about my lesson that I let them what they like to make their
own pattern and if he didn’t understand the pattern I give them sticks to
create a pattern because sticks is a material he will understand more.

When I let them go to outside they feel like we are discovering the plants, I
let them collect any leaves is fall in the ground and then we will group it and
make the patterns.

What I’ll try to improve it in next time is asking more questions to check if
they understand or not. if I could do the knowledge check by using them
number scale to know their learning for today if it was 10 -8 that’s mean he
understand the meaning and can make a pattern ,5-7 he need some help in
patterns ,1-4 he need a lot of helps to make sure he can draw a pattern .

Math Lesson (Pattern) Rational

Math is the root of the life, we use it every time and everywhere. Math help us to have skills in
problem solving and look for the solutions maybe you could find more than one way to solve the
problem.

The kids can see the pattern during their daily life, so we have to show them the main idea of
patterning. The teach is who teach the student in kindergarten the simple pattern by using the
simple things like colors and shapes to let them understand the concept.

“Patterns serve as the cornerstone of algebraic thinking.”(Cox, 2000 ) if they learn the pattern
they will understand the hardest math concept easily .student should learn to create their own
pattern by using different materials in the environment. (L.Jackman , 2010 ),when I was in grade
four we took a number pattern some thing related to algebra ,we understand more because my
teacher of kg and grade one taught us very well in this concept .

When I teach the kids the pattern some of them understand very well I let them make a pattern
by themselves asked them to stand then 2 girls, one boy, two girls .1 boy…. I asked them what
you can see. They said ordering and we make them in the same order, then they made by using
colors: Yellow, Green, pink…. Red, red, blue, blue ….. Flower, leave, flower, leave…some of
them use sticks to make the pattern they understand more when they did the pattern by using
sticks.my strategy was effective because i let them do the pattern by using different materials to
do the activity ,I think if I put a video and powerpoint it will be better because some students
learn by visual . my student learn the pattern very well ,when I asked the one of my student said
miss miss heres the pattern yellow chair ,green chair,yellow ,green.

Then we went to outside and collect leaves to make a pattern by different leaves to make the
learning experience more memorable for the learner.
