Lesson Introduction
Whole group activity: Time___15 minutes____
Opening/Introduction (warm up): (Bullet points)
 I will start by showing the students a song about
addition to warm them up for the lesson.

 At the circle time I will revise with them the
previous knowledge as they learned about Mr.Plus
and Mr.Equal (addition).

Guided experience ( whole group activity ) language instructions

1. In the circle time before starting I will ask the students to read (Surat Alfatiha)
a. I will say: Before we start we should read Quran and they will start reading.

2. Next I will play the warming up song, it’s about counting and numbers to warm up the
students so they can have an idea about the lesson.

3. I will start the lesson by asking the students: (What is addition? \ What do you know about
it?) The students already know what’s addition and they know some information about it.

4. I will put some flashcards on the board that has Mr. Plus (Plus sign) and Mr. Equal (Equal
sign). I will say : Mr. Plus’s job is to add or combine numbers together and Mr. Equal’s job
is to count the whole numbers together and to get the final answer.

5. I will write some math sentences on the board and I will ask some students to give me the
answer and I will write it on the board.

6. I will explain each activity and I will divide the students depending on their levels to the
activities.
Individual experience - Small Group Learning Centers: Time: Approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

Learning Center 1 Title: Numbers line
The activity will have flash cards that has number lines and
math sentences for example (9+1=?) they have the number
line to count and add the numbers to find the final answer of
the questions. When they will have the correct answers they
will find the clip with the correct number to put it on the
flashcard. There are some easy, medium and hard questions,
Children must challenge themselves by doing this activity.
Learning Center 2 Title: Pick, Flip, Check
This activity will have flash cards and clips. The flash cards
has two sides on the front of the flashcard there are some
questions for example: (Addition answer is 15) .. Children
will use the clip to pick the equations with an answer of 15
then they have flip the flash card to check their correct
answers.

Learning Center 3 Title: Play dough Build
This activity will teach the children how to build math
equations. The students will have some flashcards that has
different questions that they will do it by the help of the
teacher (Build 9. Add 7 more what’s the sum?) they have to
answer the questions and then use the play dough or the
markers to create the correct numbers on the flash cards.
Learning Center 3 Title: Colorful Addition
This activity will include some dominos and colorful cubes.
Students have to create their own math sentence. First they
have to write any math sentence then use the dominos to
create the numbers and use the cubes to count and to come
up with the sum of the equation.

Closing activity: Time: 5-7 minutes

I will do a quick revision with the students by asking them some questions about the lesson.
Check their answers that they did on the activities.

Assessment for Learning:

-The students have to assess their learning and the activity by telling me what they felt and how was the activities.
- Check list for a group of students.
