If the number of candidates is very large and in the opinion of the Hon'ble Jharkhand High Court it is desirable to have a Preliminary Entrance Test in order to limit the candidates for the Main Examination, then a Preliminary Entrance Test (PT) shall be conducted by the Commission. The Main Examination and Viva Voce Test shall follow the Preliminary Entrance Test for making direct recruitment to the post of Civil Judges, Junior Division> (a) "Preliminary Entrance Test" means Written Examination (Multiple Choice Questions/Objective Type) only and the candidates declared successful in this test shall be eligible for the Main Examination. (b) "Main Examination” means Written Examination (Subjective) and the candidates declared successful in this Test shall be eligible for Viva-Voce Test. (©) "Viva-Voce Test" means an Oral Examination. ‘The Syllabus for the Preliminary Entrance Test shall consist of = (i) General English General Knowledge (including Current Affairs) ‘The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908. The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. The Indian Evidence Act, 1872. The Law of Contract, 1872. (vii) ‘The Indian Penal Code, 1860. The Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of 100 marks in aggregate. The marks obtained in preliminary examination shall not be counted for the purpose of final selection. There shall be no negative marking. ‘The Merit List shall be prepared as under:~ (Candidates shall be arranged in seriatim as per marks obtained by them in the Recruitment Process. (ii) This List shall be prepared category-wise for both preliminary entrance test as well as main examination. ‘The candidates up to 15 times of the total vacancy category-wise shall be called for appearing in the Main Examination. In case of tie of marks between the candidates at the last pedestal, all the candidates obtaining such marks shall be called for appearing in the Main Examination irrespective of exceeding of number beyond 15 times of vacancies. Duration of Preliminary Entrance Test shall be of'two hours. The Main Examination shall be of four papers of 100 marks cach comprising of the questions on the following subjects. Paper-1 () Procedural Law (The Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 and The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973). (ii) The Indian Penal Code, 1860. (iii) The Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
