UAE FLAG DAY

Dubai Pharmacy College celebrated Flag Day on 1ST of November,


2018. Our Dean, Prof. Saeed Ahmed Khan hoisted the flag. He said
that Flag Day is an opportunity to educate youth about the UAE’s
values and the importance of celebrating national unity. The DPC
members and students participated in the activity.

The aim of the event was to share the latest findings about the topics diabetes,
hypertension and medical adherence to the attendees

Partner Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Supreme Commander
Organizations, of the Dubai Police, who opened the first medical marketing
Stakeholders and exhibition at the Police Officers Club in Garhoud.
Supporters Supporter was Ms.Samar Qawoogha who was the previous IPSF
SEO and now being the member of Dubai Police Council of
College and University Students made it easier for the DPCSU
members to attend the event.

Pharmacy and/or Pharmaceutical Sciences Students, Healthcare
Professionals, Other Professionals, Specific group of society
Details The DPCSU members also benefited as they were able to take a
tour through the exhibition hall, including the free provision of
medical examinations, the pricing of medical services offered by
various agencies, and the presentation of the latest technology
and modern technology in the medical field, as well as the latest
findings from the doctors and specialists in the medical
treatment of various diseases. The attendees also got a chance to
meet Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Supreme
Commander of the Dubai Police who stopped by the stand put
up by the DPCSU members containing all the necessary
information on the topic. The Major General was impressed by
the topics put up and had a discussion with all the members.

Aim of activity The aim was to celebrate the pharmacy profession and the
importance of pharmacist's role in the leading healthcare
profession.

Healthcare Professionals, Other Professionals, Specific
group of society
Details The aim was to celebrate the pharmacy profession and the
importance of pharmacist's role in the leading healthcare
profession. This event was organised by Dubai Polices’
HQ Medical Clinic, DPCSU was invited to attend this
event by Dubai Police Council of College and University
Students. During this event DPCSU prepared a stall to
display posters and brochures to increase awareness about
the importance of medication adherence. DPCSU has
received many positive feedbacks from the event
attendees and it was a great start for the new mandate.

Aim of activity The aim of the activity was to spread awareness about
diabetes to the DPC community at large.

Professors, Other Professionals
Details The aim of the activity was to spread awareness and educate
people about it so as to get early treatment and take
precautions due to the seriousness of diabetes that is
commonly seen among the people. Different booths were set
up that included for Screening workers as well as students
but priority was given to workers- included blood tests,
blood pressure etc There were booths for Alternative
medicine for diabetes- samples of natural products were
displayed and two coordinators were in charge of giving
information about the products displayed that included
cinnamon, green tea leaves, fenugreek seeds, fenugreek
leaves etc. and for merchandise of diabetes- goods included
pens, ribbon for diabetes the blue color is meant to evoke the
color of the sky, and the circle is a symbol of unity, coconut
water etc. The community was educated about the basics of
diabetes.

Aim of the course This was an innovative course that aimed to bring medicines,
drugs and pharmaceutical issues to the fore of global health
discussions. It also emphasized on concepts and issues in global
health, particularly the roles that pharmacists, pharmacy and the
pharmaceutical industry play in shaping the global health
scenario. The first Global Health Pharmacy program in the
Middle East was conducted by Dubai after many African, Asian
and European countries. Dubai Pharmacy College organized and
hosted the program that extended for 3 days.

Details On the 26th of October of this year, the first Global Health
Pharmacy program in the Middle East has been conducted in
Dubai after many African, Asian and European countries. Dubai
Pharmacy College has organized and hosted the program that
extended for 3 days. The Global Health Focus Team, led by Dr
Don Elinseo ( Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health-
Associate Professor of Public Health at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool
University).
A number of brilliant speakers has participated from UAE, Prof
Mirza Baig (Professor and Head , Clinical Pharmacy and
Pharmacotherapeutics Department at Dubai Pharmacy College),
Dr Dalia Abdulmoety (Head of Inspection and Control
Department, Ministry of Health and Prevention, Sharjah) and Dr
Samar Mahmoud ( GSK Pharmacovigilance Department)
