Workbased Qualifications ILA200
SVQs are work-based qualifications, which set a level of occupational competence for each sector of the economy. Industry lead bodies made up of experienced practitioners from employers, professional bodies, trade unions, education and the voluntary sector have designed the qualifications. Each SVQ must fit into a broad framework which allows for comparison of qualifications in the UK and throughout Europe. SVQs are specified at 5 levels, which reflect the various skills, knowledge and experience that employees should have as they progress in their industry. For all SVQs, the level at which you can qualify depends on your current job role. There are no formal academic entry requirements for the course as it is fundamentally vocationally based.
