MUSIC SHARE

Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

Music Share is an opportunity for students in Grades One to Six to “show

and tell” their musical interests and/or talents.

What can students present?

 Play a piece you have practiced (piano available in Music room)
 Present a dance or song you have practiced (solo, group)
 Present your recital or exam piece (instrumental, dance, voice)
 Make a music video using your favourite app
 Create a music track using your favourite app
 Share a favourite song (YouTube or audio)
 Give a short presentation about an instrument, genre or artist

Students will have time to share one piece.

How do students submit their Music Share requests?

 Students in Grades Four to Six will submit their requests during
class time with their music teacher.
 Submissions for students in Grades One to Three can be done via
email or return a hard copy (see next page) with the necessary
information.
What is expected of the presenters?
Students who will be presenting are expected to provide the title and the
name of the composer/singer/band of their piece. Students are also
encouraged to provide some background information about their selection, if
possible. Here are some examples:
 Mini-bio of their composer, singer or band
 Genre (style of music)
 Explain why they chose their piece
 Explain what they enjoy about their piece
 Explain what the piece means to them

All students will be evaluated on their audience behavior and audience

participation. An example of audience participation may include asking
questions appropriate to the presentation. An example of respectful behavior
would be not talking during a presentation.
This activity will run from January 7th to 31st. Due to the number of
students participating in this activity, it would be appreciated if submissions
were received no later than January 10th. This will allow time for us to
peruse song lyrics and video content as well as schedule student time for
sharing.

If your child wishes to participate, please reply by email or print and send in
the form below with details about your child’s selection. Forms/emails
must be submitted by January 10th.
