2.0 Next Week’s Work Plan

 Geometry Validation and Verification

 Setting Simulation (Inlet Header)

 Meshing (Separator, Outlet Brine)

3.0 Issues / Concerns

3.1 Request Additional Data

Requests for additional data were to find out some unknown geometry. Previously we have
asked for some detail geometry for modelling the case. Furthermore, it has been followed up by
giving detailed geometry along with isometric drawings. So far, the required data is enough after
the addition.

3.2 3D Drawing (Outlet Brine)

3 D geometry modelling is done based on the given detailed geometry. 3D Drawing model were
created using CATIAV5 software. 3D drawing model were created to meet the Computational
Fluid Dynamics simulation needs. There is a Outlet Brine models that are drawn in the CATIA
V5 software.

3.3 Meshing (Inlet Header)

Meshing is probably the most important part in any of the computer simulations, because it
can show drastic changes in results. Many fluid phenomena such as turbulence flow or phase
changing can happen inside the tube. All phenomena that will be analyzed depend on the
mesh that we created. ANSYS meshing used for does the process. Hence, we created the mesh
with the setup as follows.

Parameter Value Units

Mesh type unstructured -
Inflation layer (for boundary layer) 6 -
Total element 2.041.486 -
Average mesh quality 0.34887 -
Min. mesh size 0.00015 m2
Max. mesh size 0.1 m2
