BlackBerry® Internet Service from du
BlackBerry® Internet Service is a packaged email solution that sends
your emails and calendar information to your phone. It can be easily
set up and works with common emails such as Yahoo! Mail Plus, MSN,
Hotmail Plus, Gmail and with other email accounts provided by your
Internet Service Provider1.
With BlackBerry®, you get automatic “push” delivery of messages and
integration with up to 10 web-based email accounts. Each email will have
a separate inbox on the BlackBerry® smartphone and you will be able to
choose any one of them for composing a new email or for replying. Your
email can now find you, wherever you are. Which means you can reply
there and then rather than wait until you’re back in the office, or you
could just use your BlackBerry® smartphone to make a call.

POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) is a standard mail server commonly used on the Internet. It provides a message store
that holds incoming email until users log on and download it.

IMAP4 (Internet Message Access Protocol 4) is another mail server that allow you to access and manage mailboxes
on the server.

Service availability will vary by your web-mail service provider, and some of them may impose extra charges
for POP3 access. Please check with your web-mail provider directly. 1

Setting up web-based email accounts Step 4: You will see the screen as below,

Step 1: Please ensure your BlackBerry® Internet Service has been activated. You will
receive two confirmation messages in your BlackBerry® email inbox confirming your
registration and welcoming you to the service

Step 2: Click on Email Settings icon on your smartphone main screen

Step 5: You will see the screen “Add An Email Account”


In this Account set up menu, you will need to add your email address one by
one for every email account you wish to set up

Enter your Email address and Password and then click on “Next”.

Step 6: Once your email account is successfully created, you will see the Internet Browser should be used to browse the internet with your subscription to the

be charged as per applicable mobile data tariffs.

You will also receive a confirmation message that your email service has been
successfully set up.

A new Inbox icon will appear in your BlackBerry® smartphone main menu

Once you have successfully set up your first email account, you can set up other
email accounts by repeating steps 2–6.

You can also set up your own BlackBerry® email address with domain du.blackberry.com.
To create one, please perform the following steps:

Step 1: Click on Email Settings icon on your smartphone main screen


You will now see two browsers on your main screen to access the internet as shown
below; Internet Browser – for browsing internet using subscribed du data plan for Click on Create A BlackBerry® Email Address

personal email account. And du Browser for browsing internet using your subscribed
du data bundle.

Step 2: Enter a Username followed by your Password You will see the following screens

You will receive a confirmation message confirming that your BlackBerry® email
address account has been created. You will receive a confirmation message confirming your BlackBerry® username has
been successfully created.

Creating email accounts using a PC


You can also set up email accounts from the internet by using your PC by logging on to
www.du.blackberry.com

To create an email account using a PC, you will first need to create a username for
your BlackBerry® Internet Service from your smartphone.

Step 1: Click on Email Settings icon on the smartphone main screen


Click on Create User Name

Please always remember this username and password as you will require this for
logging on to www.du.blackberry.com.

Step 2: Logon to www.du.blackberry.com

Enter username that you have created on your BlackBerry® smartphone

Click on Log In

Suspend / Resume email forwarding to your
BlackBerry® smartphone
Suspend or resume using your BlackBerry® smartphone
Should you wish to suspend the BlackBerry® service for your email account, e.g.
when travelling abroad, you can do so from your BlackBerry® smartphone. From
your BlackBerry® smartphone all your accounts will be suspended. However, on the
www.du.blackberry.com website you can select individual accounts that you wish to
suspend.

Step 1: Click on your Email Inbox icon on your smartphone main screen
Step 3: Click on Set Up Account

Step 4: Enter your Email address and Password and click Next
Step 2: Click on Options from the sub menu

You will see a dialog box confirming that “You have successfully configured access”.
To create other email accounts, please repeat steps 2-4.

To suspend email forwarding to your smartphone using a PC, please perform the
following steps:

Enter Username that you have created on your BlackBerry® smartphone
Enter Password
Click on Log In

Step 2: Click on Filters for the account that you wish to suspend

Step 4: To suspend email forwarding on your smartphone, change option from

To resume email forwarding, you will need to repeat steps 1-3 and change option
from No to Yes

Swapping your BlackBerry® smartphone Swapping using a PC
Should you wish to change your BlackBerry® smartphone and wish to use your Alternatively, you can swap your smartphone and get your personal email accounts

Wiping your BlackBerry® smartphone Step 4: Click on Wipe Handheld from the sub menu

Should you experience problems in activating or using BlackBerry® services, you may

Wiping your smartphone will completely erase the entire data on your smartphone
including SMSs, contacts, etc. Please remember your BlackBerry® username and
password in order to reactivate your account on www.du.blackberry.com

To wipe your BlackBerry® smartphone, please perform the following steps:


Step1: Click on Options from your smartphone main screen
Your BlackBerry® smartphone will be wiped out (this may take some time).

After you have wiped your BlackBerry® smartphone, you will need to reactivate your
email accounts.

To reactivate your email accounts, please perform the following steps.

Step 1: Logon to www.du.blackberry.com


Enter Username that you have created on your BlackBerry® smartphone
Enter Password
Click on Log In
