A few miles out from the city center is La Médina d’Agadir, a life-size, open-air recreation of
Agadir’s former medina, which was wrecked by the earthquake. Constructed in 1992 using
traditional Berber techniques, this place is part museum, part work of art.
The colossal walls of the Kasbah are Agadir's only proper historic attraction. The ramparts are the
sole survivor of what was once Agadir's fortified town, built to defend this sea port against attack.
The Kasbah dates from the mid-16th century and once housed a bustling population within its
walls. The walls themselves and the gateway are well-preserved, and their hillside position
provides excellent panoramic views across Agadir and the Atlantic coastline below. Come in late
afternoon for the best photography conditions.

32. Place Bijaouane, a la Cote
Bijaouane Place d'Agadir is ideally situated on the edge of the sea with stunning views of the bay.
The site is located in the hotel area of the city in front of the Royal Mirage and Anezi and is a
popular spot to enjoy breathtaking sunsets and stunning views.

The Agadir Craft Market is composed of a mulitude of vendors and small shops offering
traditional Moroccan crafts like pottery, woven baskets, ironwork and more. The market was
moved to the centre of the new city of Agadir after 1960
