EMC CLARiiON (NaviCLI) data source

Before configuring this data source, make sure that the EMC Navisphere CLI is installed on the target device and on
the Insight server. The Navisphere CLI version must match the firmware version on the controller. For performance data
collection, statistics logging must be turned on.

NaviSphere Command Line Interface syntax

naviseccli.exe -h <IP address> -user <user> -password <password> -scope
<scope,use 0 for global scope> -port <use 443 by default> command

Configuration

Field Description

CLARiiON storage Network address for the storage device, specified as an IP

(nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn format), or as a hostname that can be resolved through DNS.

User Name Name used to log into the CLARiiON storage device.

Password Password used to log into the CLARiiON storage device.

CLI Path to navicli.exe path Full path to the executable.

or naviseccli.exe path

Requirements
 An IP address of each CLARiiON storage processor
 Read-only Navisphere username and password to the CLARiiON arrays
 Access validation: Run NaviCLI from the Insight server to each array using the above username and password.
 NaviCLI version should correspond with the newest FLARE code on your array
 3rd party software installed on Insight server/RAU: navicli

Advanced configuration

Field Description

Inventory Poll Interval Interval, in minutes, at which the data source should poll the device. The default is
(min) 40.
 Field Description

Use Secure Client Provides a secure management facility for activating the required CLARiiON array
(naviseccli) replication support functionality.

Scope The secure client scope. This is an enumeration with the following values: Global,
Local, LDAP. The default is Global.

CLARiiON CLI Port The port on the CLARiiON used for NaviCLI connections.

Inventory External Process Maximum time allowed for inventory commands to complete.
Timeout (sec)

Performance Poll Interval For Array Performance, sets the Perform poll interval. The recommended setting is
(sec) 300.

Retry Count to Retrieve For Array Performance, the maximum number of retry attempts to retrieve an
Archive File archive file.

Performance External For Array Performance, the maximum time allowed for performance commands to
process timeout (sec) complete.

Performance requirement
 Statistics logging must be turned on.

 naviseccli.exe -h {ip} -User {user} -Password {password} -Scope 0 -port {port} storagepool -list
 naviseccli.exe -h {ip} -User {user} -Password {password} -Scope 0 -port {port} thinlun –list
 naviseccli.exe -h {ip} -User {user} -Password {password} -Scope 0 -port {port} storagegroup -list -gname {storage
group name} (This can be run multiple times with different storage group names.)
