DEPARTMENT FOR TRAFFIC REGULATION
TECHNICAL REPORT
Main characteristics of the area covered by this design are that roads are practically out of
the town and all the roads are reserved for motor traffic only. The area designed consists of
the Bridge, tunnel and roads connecting this section to state road M21 and connections to
district road R107.
Beside this, crossroad on Novi Sad start of the Bridge is also covered, to adopt traffic
signalization for the Bridge opened for traffic.
Standard traffic signs are to be set up according to Code on setting up traffic signalization
– “PRAVILNIK O SAOBRACAJNIM ZNAKOVIMA NA PUTEVIMA (Sl Glasnik RS 15/2004)
During setting up of traffic signalization, special care has to be taken out on uninterrupted
visibility on traffic light lanterns. Also, guide posts are to be set up on half portal structures, to
minimize danger of vandal behavior.
Key point in this design is that existing traffic signalization is to be changed completely.
Also, because roads on the Bridge and in Tunnel are 9.75 meters, basic solution of three
traffic lanes is changed and two traffic lanes and one stopping lane are established.

Height for letters on guide posts is 175 mm, while height of letters for posts on roads
reserved for motor traffic only is 210 mm.
On characteristic places where unnatural end elements are installed, because of not finished
roads as originally designed, permanent blinking signs connected on public lighting are
designed.
Horizontal traffic signalization is designed in accordance with actual laws, codes and
standards. Characteristic cross sections are given on drawings.
Concerning execution of works, it is designed that signalization in the Tunnel and the Bridge,
is to be “permanent”, so to be applied instantly after execution of road structure. If roads in
the Tunnel will remain in present condition, horizontal signalization will be applied in a way to
remain permanent.
A certain period after establishment of traffic over the Sloboda Bridge, it is expected that
traffic will again be of the intensity that crossroads that were previously supplied with traffic
light will need light signalization again. This means that it is important that existing traffic light
installation that still exists is not destroyed, as well as foundations for lantern poles.
