or presenting the new lesson

B. Establishing a purpose for the Lesson

Ask… Children what is it?
Who among you experienced living in this kind of house?
What do you feel when you were living on it?

Do you see lines? Shape? Proportion? Harmony? Form? Etc.

C. Presenting examples/ instances of

the new lesson Discuss the elements and principle of objects.
Elements
Line An element of art defined by a point moving in space. Line may be two-or three-dimensional, descriptive, implied,
or abstract.
Shape An element of art that is two-dimensional, flat, or limited to height and width.
Form An element of art that is three-dimensional and encloses volume; includes height, width AND depth (as in a cube, a
sphere, a pyramid, or a cylinder). Form may also be freeflowing.
Texture is element of art that refers to the way things feel, or look as if they might feel if touched.
Color An element of art made up of three properties: hue, value,
and intensity.

Principles
Proportion A principle of design that refers to the relationship of certain elements to the whole and to each other.
Harmony a way of combining similar elements in an artwork to accent their similarities (achieved through use of
repetitions and subtle gradual changes)
Movement principle of design used to create the look and feeling of action and to guide the viewer’s eye throughout the
work of art.
Balance a way of combining elements to add a feeling of equilibrium or stability to a work of art.
Variety is achieved by using different shapes, sizes, and/or colors in a work of art.

Show pictures of collage design

B. Establishing a purpose for the Lesson Ask” what is a collage?
Collage is an art production in which several materials are put together, to form a new work of art. Collage originated from the French word “coller” which means “to glue”

E. Discussing new concepts and
Electronic collage is made or composed of electronic images or photographs and is prepared digitally. A software is used to create the collage.
practicing new skills #2

Picture Collage Maker is an example of software that can be used to create electronic collage. This is a simple-to-use Windows freeware that allows you to arrange pictures
and create digital collages. This software can also be used to make scrapbooks, posters, invitations, calendars, and greeting cards.
Activity 3
Collage
What to do:
Draw an outline of your collage
F. Developing mastery
Using the different tactile materials that you have, cover your drawing outline.
Be creative in using the materials. Use the appropriate materials for the drawing
Glue the materials to the drawing outline.

G. Finding practical applications of
concepts and skills in daily living

H. Making generalizations and You can create a collage using physical materials. You can produce almost the same output using computer program. But there are things that you can do with your
abstractions about the lesson electronic collage that cannot be done with physical collage.
