The Strategies of Teaching And Learning In High School

There are many ways of teaching and many ways of learning. Teaching can be fun,

boring or just pointless if the student does not like that way of learning certain topics. Kids these

days are evolving, you can most likely ask any teacher and they will tell you that many kids learn

differently than when they first started teaching the kids or that most kids fall into different

categories of learning. There are 7 ways to lean and some, are not good because majority of the

teachers don't understand that sometimes they need to change the way they teach to better the

learning of the students.

Many teachers, in my experience will teach differently but some variety there are 7 main

styles of learning according to Time4Learning.com and not all kids will appeal to certain styles

of teaching. The seven styles of learning are, Visual- this is self explanatory because it means the

student will learn by seeing visuals and examples of what they are being taught. The second style

will be Aural- when the kid likes to learn by sound and through music or sounds. Thirdly, we

have the style of learning called verbal or linguistic, when the kid likes to be lectured and told

the material verbally. Logical is the 5th style of learning, when you or a student uses logic to

learn. Social learning is up next on the list. Social learning is when people learn best in groups

and in ]nd self study. Last but not least there is physical or what I call hands-on learning. Hands

on learning is when the kids like to touch and feel what they are learning about.

Teachers nowadays need to adapt to the ever changing ways of learning so that the

students can be more successful in life. Any kid had the potential to do good in life after school,

but the ways that the kids are taught does not always let them open up to their full potential,

rather it makes them sink down and hate school or certain classes that they take. What a majority

of the kids want is good grades easily. Getting an easy A in a class may not mean its an easy

class, rather that class was taught in way that the kid likes and thinks is easy. In turn good grades

look great on a college transcript and will help the kids get into more prestigious colleges and

even further in life, prestigious jobs.

According to Quora.com, Teachers see this in their students and will not adapt. Even so

that the C- average student will go on and be just as successful than the other kids getting better

grades. This goes to show that the kids want to learn in a way that they can use it later in life.

While some people prefer to be taught in lectures, or watch videos or even just close their eyes

and listen to something. all kids learn differently and apply what they have learned differently

and in order to better their chances of success, teachers need to adapt around the students and

teach in a way that suits mostly everyone.
