1 PMT Version Update

The PMT itself supports version upgrade. The upgrade steps are as shown in the table
below.

In the PMT MAKER of V106P02, the ukeyware.bin version file of PMT is put in the root
partition of the U disk, and the engineers do not need to copy the file manually anymore.
Therefore, start form Step 2 directly.
Copy the PMT_V0105P01\PMT_VER_V0105P01\ukeyware.bin file to a U disk,
1
and insert the U disk into the PMT tool.
2 Turn the Function switch ON.
3 Power on U key.
After the PMT version is upgraded successfully, the ALM, STA, RET indicators will
4
become ON in red.
5 Turn the Function switch OFF.
6 Power on the PMT again. The upgrade finishes.

situation, and the default value is 192.254.1.16.

4. Click OK, and select a configuration item, as shown below.

1. In this process, two dialog boxes will pop up, i.e., the Base Station Image window and
PMT Maker progress window. After the process of the Base Station Image window
finishes, it is necessary to click OK to continue. Otherwise, the system will stay in the status.

2. When the PMT Maker is running, do not switch to other windows. Otherwise, the Base
Station Image window will hide, and the user needs to switch to the Base Station Image
window manually.

3. The latest version does not support the upgrade of V4.00 anymore. If it is necessary to
upgrade V4.00, please use V1.04p02 PMT Maker.

3 PMT Base Station Upgrade Flow

1 Insert the U disk into the USB port of the PMT.
Connect the Ethernet port of the PMT to the DEBUG\CAS\LMT Ethernet port of the
2
CC board.
3 Turn the Function switch OFF.
4 Turn the Battery switch ON.
5 Power on the CC board if it is not powered on.
The upgrade will last for about 10-40 minutes. This time depends on the size of the
6
package.
The RET indicator becomes ON, and the upgrade finishes. Please refer to the
7
Indicator Description about whether the upgrade succeeds or not.
8 Turn the Battery switch OFF.

 Note:

In the upgrade process, if the ALM indicator stays ON for more than 1 minute, it is necessary
to check whether the Ethernet cable and U disk are connected normally or whether the CC
board is rebooting.

If the RET indicator is ON in red, it means the upgrade fails, and the PMT upgrade can be
stopped right away. In this case, power on CC and PMT to perform upgrade again. Observe
whether the upgrade can be completed normally.

In the upgrade process, PMT or CC can be shut down at any time and this will not cause
damage to the CC board. It is not necessary to pay special attention to the CC board in this
process.

When the upgrade starts or in the reboot process after the upgrade, the ALM indicator of
PMT will be ON in Red for a little while.

It is recommended to use a complete upgrade, i.e., delete the existing version and install the
target version directly, to clear the disk.

After the complete upgrade, if the system prompts insufficient disk space for the operations
on OMCB, the CC version is incorrect. This problem has nothing to do with PMT upgrade.
After the complete upgrade with PMT, the space is usually sufficient.

The configuration file (in XML format) is one of the files used to put SDR version files and
configuration files into the U disk with PMT MAKER. Therefore, the type of the board used
should be consistent with that in the configuration file. Otherwise, it is possible that some
boards cannot run normally.

PMT does not have any special requirements for the U disk, provided it is an FAT U disk.
There should be no file in the U disk, and therefore the disk can be formatted. For the PMT

of very old versions, some types of U disk may not work normally. If this happens, please
contact He Yijun10031798.

It will not take long to make a U disk with PMT MAKER, about 5-10 minutes. If the PMT
MAKER stops working, it is most likely that there is some problem in PMT MAKER. In this
case, please restart it and then perform the operations. This will not affect the U disk.
