Dear Parents and Guardians:

Earlier today, I was informed by local authorities that a bus driver working for the School District
of Ashland's contracted busing company, Lake Shore Buses, Inc., had been arrested for a child-
related crime. The incident occurred while the individual was not under supervision; it reportedly
occurred off school property and outside of the school day.

As always, our top concern is the safety and security of our students. As required by the contract
with the District, Lake Shores Buses, Inc., conducts regular background checks on all employees.
Given the recent developments, the driver has been placed on leave as an employee of Lake Shore
Buses, Inc. and will no longer drive for the District.

The School District is cooperating with local law enforcement officials as they continue their
investigation. We will continue to keep you informed as we learn more.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at 715-682-7080 or
eolson@sdak12.net. Thank you for your attention to this communication.

Sincerely,

Erik Olson
Superintendent
