Dear Al Brown,

I would love the opportunity to be a hardworking, passionate member of your spring 2018
tutoring program. As soon as I read the description of the program, I knew I was the indicate
candidate for this position at the Learning Center.

I have an extensive tutoring experience in a variety of science subjects, and have tutored in
Chemistry, Physics and Calculus. I have helped students learn to analyze physics problems,
memorize the periodic table, balance chemical equations and graph parabolas to hyperboles.
Your program requires that tutors can assist students in multiple subjects, and my experience
would allow me to do just that.

You also state in your job posting that you require tutors that can work with students of all ages.
As a teacher in the Robert Allan Reed Center, I have experience working with adult students
from the age of twenty and fifty years old, and have also tutored middle school students in
chemistry, high school students. Patience, perseverance and adaptability are the strengths that I
have developed and improved during these positions. Through these tutoring and counseling
positions, I have learned how to best teach each age group. For example, I gave my adult
students daily quizzes to help them prepare for exams.

I still remember my excitement when my chemistry student received her first “A” on a quiz! I
am confident that my passion and experience are the qualities you are looking for in a tutor.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Miguel Luna
