There will be noise from traffic moving about as
we are filming on a busy street. There might
also be a lot of wind due to filming in January
and the wind will pick up. This might be heard
on the camera as well.

This means that the cameras or other
equipment could potential run out of charge as
they can’t be charged up.
Hazards
Busy traffic on the roads so need to be careful
of cars. People are also walking about, and we

To solve this, I will use a light reflector, this can
be used to block the sun if there is too much or
bounce the sun onto my actors faces so the
shot appears brighter. As well as this I will bring
an artificial light, so I can light to the shots.

Due to this production having no dialogue I will
be stripping the sound from all my footage and
creating foley sounds to go over areas where
sound effects are needed.
Solutions:
Make sure to bring battery backup and other
bits of equipment that doesn’t need to be
constantly charged. This way it will ensure we
can continuously film without stopping and get
everything we need to collect.

Be extra cautious when walking around. Don’t
do any shots which are going to risk yourself for
examples shots on the road.

The shop lighting is very yellow due to the over
head lights being yellow toned. There is light in
the room and there is a massive store window
at the front of the shop.
Sound Information:
Due to the shop being indoors all the noise
from outside should be subdued. However,
there will be noises from inside the shop. For
example, the sound of people talking and the
workers making coffee and other drinks/food.
Power Information
There will be limited power sources within the
shop as they will already being used. This
means that I will not being able to charge or
use the power for any of my equipment when
filming.
Hazards
People with hot drinks walking about and table
and chairs in the way. The floor being slippy
from the wet weather outside.

To solve this, I will use my camera mounted

actor’s face and also to subdue some of the

There are bright lights on the wall within the
subway, they are very yellow toned and can be
very harsh when shooting. There is not much
natural light within the tunnel due to it being
underground.
Sound Information:
Due to the area being in a train station and
under the railway tracks, every fifteen minutes
or so there will be noises caused due to the
trains and announcements over the radio
intercom thing. This can cause problems whilst
filming because I don’t want the noise to be
heard in my footage.
Power Information:
We will be using no cables or anything, so I
don’t need to think about this as an issue.
Hazards
Hazards could include tripping over on the
cobbled floor due to it being bumpy and
unstable. Also, there might be issue in bumping
into people who just of the train whilst filming.

will get a lot of noise from children. Also, the
road outside the house tends to be very busy
throughout the day. Therefore, there will be
noises from cars going past etc.

picking it for that reason. However, it is quite
near a main road which will have noise of traffic
and people. This may cover over the noises
within the shot.

equipment runs out of charge you will not be

Sam Trott- Little Boy

This is Samuel James Trott. I auditioned him

for the role of the little boy within my short
film. I wanted the character to look innocent
and be likeable for the audience watching. I
auditioned Sam by handing him a five-pound
note and seeing him mess around with it and
pull different facial expressions. I think Sam
really worked well in playing this role as he
made himself appear fragile and cute. This is
obviously the style I want to go for within my
production. I thought that Sam’s acting
performance was good. As well as this, I
thought Sam looked the part. His messy
blonde hair and big blue eyes reinforced the
idea of innocence which makes him the perfect candidate for my short film.

Toby Johnston- Little Boy

This is Toby Johnston and he is auditioning

for the role of the little boy. I thought Toby
was good at acting due to going stage
school he has that experience with acting
and knows how to take direction and do
different facial expressions. However, even
though Toby is amazing at acting I don’t
think he has the same connection on screen
as Sam has with the other actors. The
chemistry and relationships between each
character really makes the production and makes it more realistic for the audience. As
well as this I don’t think Toby looks the part in terms of the vision I wanted to go with,
also he doesn’t look related to the characters in which I have casted to me his mum and
dad. Overall, I think Toby would be a good backup if the actor Sam Trott pulls out of the
production, but otherwise I do not think he is right for the part.

Kathleen Butterworth- Older Woman

I auditioned Kathleen Butterworth for the

role of the older woman. I asked Kathleen
to hold onto the five-pound note and do
an improvisation with it. She decided to
look into the money to check if it was real
and valid. I thought this improvisation
worked really well and fitted with the
character of the older woman as she is
paranoid and cautious that the money is
real. Because of this I thought the audition
was a real success. To add to this, I
thought Kathleen looked the part as she
was in the correct age category to play this character, in her sixties. She looked older,
which was the look I was going for, however she did have a innocent look and naivety
about her. This meant her character would come across as likeable and interesting to
the audience. From a more practical stand point due to my actress living locally it will
make filming easier and more accessible for me, especially if I need to do re-shoots.
