RULES AND GUIDELINES

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Brahman Idol (Inter-School Edition) is open to all Grade 12 students of different public
and private schools in the province of Batangas.
2. This shall be a solo singing competition.
3. There shall be a maximum of two (2) representatives from each invited school for the
screening process.

SCREENING
1. There shall be one (1) screening stage for all the auditionees from the different schools.
2. Audition forms shall be provided by the committee.
3. All accomplished audition forms, together with the photocopy of the auditionees’ ID, shall
be submitted on January 18, 2019, until 5:00PM at the UB Corporate Communications
Office or through e-mail at cco@ub.edu.ph
4. The screening stage shall be on January 25, 2018, 9:00am at the UB Multimedia Center.
5. The top fifteen (15) students who passed the screening stage shall qualify for the Grand
Finals.
6. The decision of the screening committee is final and irrevocable.

PERFORMANCE
1. This competition shall be open to all singing acts.
2. Each act shall render a minimum of 2 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes. Timer starts
upon the signal of the host/judges. There shall be a corresponding deduction once the
performer/s exceeds to the allotted time. (This shall apply both for the screening stage
and the grand finals).
3. Contestants shall wear their official school uniform during the screening stage and
appropriate attire during the Grand Finals (suitable, comfortable and marked with
decency).
4. Contestants shall have an instrumental music (with no backup vocals) during their
performance.
5. Contestants shall also be allowed to use a musical instrument of their choice.
6. There shall be no profanity or vulgar lyrics in any vocal performances.
MATERIALS
1. The music to be used shall be solely contained in a flash drive and is to be submitted on
January 18, 2019, until 5:00pm at the UB Corporate Communications Office or through
e-mail at cco@ub.edu.ph

*In case the contestants will use a musical instrument, just inform the Corporate
Communications Office ahead of time.

2. The contestant shall have a backup of his/her music saved in a flash drive.

GRAND FINALS
1. The grand final round of Brahman Idol (Inter-School Edition) shall be on February 22,
2019, 1:00pm at the UB Auditorium.
2. The top fifteen (15) auditionees who passed the screening stage shall qualify for the
Grand Finals.
3. There shall be three winners – 3rd place, 2nd place, and the Grand Champion. The
winners and their school shall receive corresponding prizes.
4. Posters containing the photo of the Grand Finalists shall be uploaded on the official
facebook fan page of University of Batangas. 10% of the Grand Finalists’ total score
shall be based from the number of Facebook reactions on their poster. Counting of
reactions shall start on February 1, 2019 and shall end on February 21, 2019, 3:00PM.
5. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

Champion P30,000 cash + full P15,000 worth of item
scholarship for one year
2nd Place P20,000 cash + 50% P10,000 worth of item
scholarship for one year
3rd Place P10,000 cash + 25% P5,000 worth of item
scholarship for one year
12 Consolation Prizes P1,000 cash per finalist
