Can solve simple measure and money problems involving fractions and decimals to 2 decimal places
Recognises and writes decimal equivalents of any number of tenths and hundredths, and also 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4
Can add and subtract fractions with denominators that are the same or multiples of the same number
Can convert fractions into decimals
Can round numbers to nearest whole or first decimal place
YEAR 5

## Fractions Can solve problems involving numbers with up to 3 decimal places

Can solve problems that use %ages and decimals equivalents of 1/2, 1/4. 1/5. 2/5, 4/5 and fractions with a denominator of a multiple of 10 or 25.
Recognises mixed and improper fractions
Understand percentage as parts of 100
Can add and subtract fractions with different denominators and mixed numbers
Can calculate the decimal equivalent of a fraction, and recall simple equivalents between fractions, decimals and percentages
Can divide proper fractions by whole numbers

Fractions Can multiply one-digit numbers with up to 2 decimal places by whole numbers
Can multiply simple pairs of proper fractions, writing the answer in its simplest form
Can use common factors to simplify fractions; use common multiples to express fractions in the same denomination
Use formal method of division giving an answer with up to 2 decimal places

Numbers Can use the 4 ops, incl formal written methods, applied to integers, decimals, proper & improper fracs, and mixed numbers, all both +ve and -ve
