The capital city of Jakarta is one of the city with high levels of
youth violence in Indonesia. In addition to disturbing the community of
violent behavior in adolescents are also self-defeating because the main
task of adolescents is to learn as spreper their future. Violent behavior in
adolescents in Jakarta has to do with intention to violence. This is
indicated by the positive attitude of the teenagers to violence, perceiving
that violent behavior is something that is expected of peers and assume
that violence is easy to do.
This study aims to examine the role of variable intentions of
violent behavior on violent behavior in adolescents in Jakarta by
establishing the theory of planned behavior as a model of behavioral
research. The research method used is quantitative. Data collection
through self enumaration questionnaire. The sample of this research are
104 students consisting of 64 students of SMAN 70 Jakarta and 30
students from SMK Bunda Kandung Jakarta.
The results of the study showed that the attitudes toward violence,
subjective norms and perceived behavior control positively contributed
against intention of violence . Furthermore intention to engage in violence
positively contributed to the violent behavior of adolescents in Jakarta.
This result means that the higher the intention of violence to students in
Jakarta, the higher the violent behavior. The actual behavior control does
not contribute to the behavior of adolescent violence means whether or not
the actual behavioral control does not affect the role of violent intentions
on youth violence behavior in Jakarta. In addition, attitudes toward
violence, subjective norms and perceived behavior control play a positive
role to the intention to violence in adolescents in Jakarta
