I was excited to see this interchange opportunity you have listed for a french Curriculum Consul-
tant in Science K–9. I always wanted as a teacher to have a greater impact on the education system and
this opening would let me do exactly that!

I have been teaching for the last 15 years in various schools in and around Calgary. My current
teaching assignment at Woodman School is Sciences 8-9 and Mathematics 8. Before, I was for three years a
vice-principal / teacher at École Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys.

I feel that one of my greatest strength, as a teacher, is my ability to spark their curiosity in Science. I
also try to make Science accessible to the student by having them spend more time trying and experimen-
ting than talking. I try as much as I can to incorporate the concept of “busy hands equal busy mind”. I’m
also able to recognize each student’s unique needs by having an in-depth understanding of their abilities.

I’ve always been a teacher that is ready to help colleagues and, very knowledgeable in Sciences,
Mathematics and technology. I was a vice-principal, I have proven that I can handle the challenges that
come with a leadership position. During my assignment as a VP my work included: counseling teachers
and students, running meetings, organizing the timetable, planning options and organizing daily activi-
ties. I truly believe that my unique and diverse skill set would be an asset for any curriculum designer
team.
