Applicants are required to have finished or is finishing a 4-year bachelor’s degree in the arts or sciences from
a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) recognized college or university with any of the following
subjects as major or field of concentration:
The requirement of the Legal Education Board (LEB) for law school applicants to take the Philippine Law
Schools Admission Test (PHILSAT) does not apply to applicants to the UP College of Law.
The following are the requirements for acceptance to the DLSU Law Program:
1. Application Form with passport size photo (3.5cm X 4.5cm) with white background.
2. Two (2) pcs of recent & identical passport size (3.5cm X 4.5cm) ID pictures with white background for the Exam
Permit
3. Original Copy of Transcript of Records (for those who studied in the Philippines) or Philippine Embassy authenticated
original copies of Transcript of Records (for those who studied outside the Philippines).

5. Photocopy of NSO Certificate of Marriage, for female applicants who changed their names after marriage
6. Transfer Credentials or Honorable Dismissal (for graduates of a university or college in the Philippines other than
DLSU). Transfer Credentials, usually issued by the Registrar’s Office, certifies that the applicant has no pending
accountability with his or her previous university or college and is eligible for transfer to another educational
institution. If the university does not issue a Transfer Credential/Honorable Dismissal, a Certificate of Non-Issuance
of Transfer Credentials will be required. The Transfer Credentials is the only document that may be submitted on or
Accomplished and Verified Application for Transfer Credentials Form from the Enrollment Services Hub (for DLSU-
Manila graduates).
Photocopy of Diploma or Original Copy of Certificate of Graduation indicating name of degree and date of
graduation (for applicants who earned a college or postgraduate degree outside the Philippines.
7. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation. An employed applicant may secure a letter of recommendation from his/her
current employer, immediate head or his/her own respective Human Resource Department or its equivalent. Letters
of Recommendation may also be obtained from former/current advisers or professors.

Certificate of Eligibility as proof of passing the PhiLSAT
To qualify for admission to the J.D. Program, the applicant must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Sciences, or a higher
academic degree, from an authorized and recognized university or college. Following requirements set by the Legal Education Board
(LEB), in order to qualify for an ALS diploma, the applicant must have completed at least eighteen (18) units of English, six (6) units of
Mathematics, eighteen (18) units of Social Science subjects, and at least three (3) units of a Rizal course.
Please note that pursuant to ALS policies, persons who have enrolled and have been graded in at least one (1) semester in any law school
are not eligible for admission to the J.D. Program.
Decisions regarding admission are made by the Dean, upon the recommendation of the Admissions Committee, and taking into
consideration the applicant's scholastic records and abilities, entrance exam results, and character references.
The applicant must accomplish the online application form which will be accessible on this page on November 1, 2018. Please take note
that the online application will require you to upload the following documents:
All applications must be made online and submitted by February 15, 2019.
After the successful completion and review of the online application, the applicant will then be notified to pay the fee (Php 3,500.00) for the
ALS Entrance Examination. ALS will assign the date on which the applicant is to take the examination.
In addition to hard copies of uploaded documents, the applicant is also required to cause the submission of two recommendations coming
from (i) the dean of the applicant’s school or a former professor, and (ii) someone, not a relative or friend, who knows the applicant well
enough to provide a true character reference. Such recommendations should be accomplished on the required recommendation form.
Once completed, these forms must be submitted to ALS in sealed and signed envelopes.

Successful PhilSAT Examinees shall be exempt from taking the LPU-COL entrance exam, but must additionally
submit their Certificate of Grade/Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Legal Education Board.
Unsuccessful PhilSAT Examinees must take and pass the LPU-COL entrance exam.
Those who did not take the PhilSAT must first secure a Permit for Conditional Admission from the Legal
Education Board Office located at the 11th Floor, Ermita Center Building, Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila,
and present the same to the LPU-COL.
If the applicant fails to take the next scheduled PhilSAT, as required by his conditional admission, his
admission shall automatically be revoked and he shall be barred from enrolling in the following semester.
If the applicant obtains a score below the cut-off mark, his conditional admission shall automatically be
revoked, and he shall be barred from enrolling in the following semester, unless the law school expressly
admits him in the exercise of its discretion.
Any applicant whose conditional admission is revoked as a consequence of non-compliance with the M.O.
shall not be entitled to any refund of any school fees already assessed and paid.
* Only upon submission of the original transcript of records from the school last attended may a certain unit/s be credited towards completion of the subject
requirements in the Bachelor of Laws program of the College of Law of Lyceum of the Philippines University.

1. Submit complete application requirements to the Institute of Law, School of Law and Governance, 7th Floor APEC Communications
Building for evaluation by a representative of the Institute.
2. Once the requirements are evaluated and verified as complete, an application certificate will be released by the Institute representati
ve indicating the application fee to be paid.
3. Present the application certificate to the Accounting Office, 2nd Floor, College of Arts and Sciences Building for payment.
4. Present the official receipt (proof of payment of application fee) to the Institute of Law representative for filing with the rest of the appli
cation requirements and have the application certificate signed by the representative. This will serve as proof of submission of compl
ete application requirements.

Admission Policies
1. The San Beda College of Law admits only those applicants whose credentials and personal qualifications yield evidence that
they can offer an excellent academic performance and profit from the intellectual, social and spiritual opportunities offered by
the College.
2. An applicant for admission to the law course should have pursued and satisfactorily completed in an authorized and
recognized university or college the courses of study prescribed for a bachelor’s degree in arts or sciences; and should have
earned the following number of units in preparatory law course: 18 units of English, 18 units of Social Science, 6 units of
Mathematics and 6 units of Filipino.
Note: A bachelor’s degree holder who passed the entrance examination but lacks the required number of units in the
required courses may conditionally enter the College of Law, but must satisfy these requirements before admission to
Second Year Law.
3. All students entering the San Beda College of Law for the first time shall take an entrance examination, which consists mainly
of a test of logic, comprehension, articulation, and aptitude for the law profession. Entrance examinations are given, upon
prior application, in accordance with the schedule duly announced, generally at any time between the closing of the school
year and reopening of classes.
5. All new students enrolling in the College of Law or reenrolling after an absence of two consecutive semesters are under
academic probation for the entire school year. Old students may be admitted on probation in attendance, conduct or
academics. In such cases, the Committee on Admission or the Dean may set the conditions under which they are admitted on
probation.

Transfer Students
Transfer students from accredited law schools may be accepted for enrollment in any semester provided that they meet the current General
Weighted Average (GWA) and other requirements which the school may impose.
Enrollment Period
The regular enrollment period is scheduled two to three weeks before the start of classes. Late registration is normally allowed during the
first fourteen (14) calendar days from the official start of regular classes, unless otherwise announced. Should a student drop within the first
week of classes, 20% of the tuition and miscellaneous fees are retained and when a student drops within the 2nd week of classes , then
there is a retention of 10% of applicable fees. When a student drops after the 14 days, then the student must pay the entire tuition and
miscellaneous fees as required. A student shall not be allowed to enroll in any subject after fourteen (14) days from the official start of
regular classes, unless authorized by the Dean based on the student’s scholastic record. A fine shall be imposed for late registration.
Promissory notes are issued to students who have delinquent accounts to enable them to enroll on a temporary basis. Students who fail to
take to comply with the conditions of the note shall not be included in the official class list until payment has been made. Should the student
still fail to settle his/her delinquent accounts by the midterm examinations, may be dropped from the roll.
