Grade 7/8/9 Science/Robotics Practicum Teacher (6 weeks) Fall 2018
Almadina Language Charter Academy
• Planned and executed effective lessons for three grade eight science classes and multiple
robotics/programming classes to engage over 125 students in learning.
• Established strong relationships with students by getting to know them on a personal level, which resulted in
improved classroom behaviour.
• Implemented universal and targeted differential strategies to support the learning of all students in an ELL-
focused environment.
• Incorporated a variety of instructional techniques including labs, classroom discussions, direct instruction and
projects to allow multiple points of entry for students.

Grade 10/11 Pre-Engineering/Physics Practicum Teacher (4 weeks) Winter 2018
Bowness High School
• Developed and implemented lesson plans for two grade 11 physics/pre-engineering classes and supported
student learning in a grade 10 pre-engineering class.
• Assessed students using a balanced number of methods including observation, exit cards, individual whiteboard
responses, unit tests, quizzes, direct questioning, and discussion to get an accurate idea of student ability and
inform teaching decisions.
• Modified teaching approaches quickly in response to feedback from partner teacher and students to improve
student outcomes.
• Engaged students in metacognitive activities through the creation of self-targeted practice learning activities to
encourage the development of life-long learners.

YMCA Calgary
• Help teach struggling high school students a variety of skills, approaches and techniques, resulting in increased
academic success.
• Create a safe and welcoming place where students feel supported by developing strong relationships and

STEM Summer Camp Instructor May 2018 – August 2018
Minds In Motion – University of Calgary
• Developed and implemented over 20 engaging STEM-oriented activities for children from grades three to nine.
• Collaborated constructively with a partner instructor to improve, deliver and oversee the daily activities,
resulting in positive experiences for all campers.
• Addressed any issues with camper behaviour and expectations through constructive discussion with parents,
children and coworkers.
• Incorporated a variety of technology including Lego Mindstorms robotics, Sphero robots, Little Bits electronics,
breadboard prototyping, website design and Scratch programming.

Production Engineer January 2014 – June 2017
Ember Resources
• Worked closely with a small group to successfully manage a natural gas field of over 10 000 wells in a positive
team environment.
• Sought out training opportunities to increase technical knowledge, gain understanding of specialized software
and quickly immerse myself in the industry.
• Supported other engineers as needed and trained coworkers in the use of technical oil and gas related software
to improve company-wide performance.

Volunteer House Builder October 2014 – July 2017
Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta
• Helped in the construction of several homes for people in need around Calgary where I learned to solve
problems in a practical manner.
• Completed over 120 hours of volunteer time while working with a very diverse team.
• Followed all safety requirements and participated in daily safety meetings to make sure that everyone stayed
safe on the job.

Volunteer Assistant Soccer Coach April 2009 – May 2011
• Assisted the head coach of a minor soccer team with team organization and strategy.
• Developed the players’ skills and techniques through targeted drills and feedback to improve performance.
