In order to judge the progeny, first of all we see placement of lord of the 5th house, then we see if 5th house has any
planet.

After analysing the above, we come to the Saptamsha Chart to see the strength of the 5th house.
Then for Counting the number of children, we first see whether the Lagna is odd or even.
If it is odd sign, then the number of children are counted first child from 5th house, 2nd. from 7th house, 3rd from 9th
house 4th from 11th house and so on
And if it is even sign, then counting starts from 9th house, 7th house, 5th house, 3rd house and so on.

a)Add longitude of jupiter,moon and sun.Find out rashis the sum represents.Find its navmasha.The number of
navmasha represents the number of childern for example suppose the sum represents 14 degree 37 minutes and one
navmasha is 3 degree 20 minutes and it represents 4 complete navmashas so number of childern will be four.
b)Add longitude of lords of 4th,5th and 9th and find the resultant rashi and navamsha as given above.The number of
completed navamsha indicate the number of childern.
c)The number of childern will be equal to navmashas passed by 5th lord in a rashi.
d)The association of planets with the 5th lord also gives the clue of the number of childern,but these planets should
not have debilition or cumbstion or positions in inimical signs or navamsas.
e)In ashtakavarga of jupiter,the number of points falling in 5th reconed from jupiter indicates the number of
childern.The points of male planets show the male issue while the female planets indicate number of girls.
f)Taurus,Leo,Virgo and Scorpio falling as the ascendent,the moon sign or the 5th house show that the native may get
only a very few issues.
g)Cancer as 5th house with mercury also indicates a limited number of childern.
