WORLD TEACHERS’ MONTH NARRATIVE REPORT

Teachers appreciate being appreciated, for this is every teachers’ highest award.
Hence, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 242, September 5 – October 5 was
declared as National Teachers’ Month, as well as on the fifth day of October of every year
as National Teachers’ Day. This aims to honor those who are in the teaching profession,
to give emphasis on their vital role to the society and to give gratitude for their positive
influences amongst Filipino learners.

Balagtas Heights Elementary School successfully celebrated this tribute to all the
teachers of BHES.

The launching of this celebration started with a mass led by Father Dennis Pascual
on September 5, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. After the mass, the pupils expressed their gratefulness
through making cards dedicated to their own advisers. On the following week, the pupils
showed their prowess in writing. The primary were assigned to make poems while in the
intermediate were essay and story writing connected to this year’s theme, “Gurong
Pilipino: Turo Mo, Kinabukasan Ko.” On the third week, pupils demonstrated how they
love their teachers through using their artistic skills. In the intermediate, they made a
slogan while in the intermediate was tasked to do poster. On the last week of this month
long celebration was a blast. On October 4, classroom based celebration of Teachers’
day was conducted. The pupils organized programs for their teachers. Singing, dancing
and reciting poems were presented to amuse their teachers. The following day, October
5, was the school celebration of the whole grade levels. The PTA officers were the ones
organized the programs. The PTA President, Mrs. Marissa Vinculado, served as master
of ceremony. The program was led by our school principal, Mrs. Jocylyn DC. Manzano.
All the grade levels performed. The kindergarten pupils showcased their talent in ballroom
dancing, followed by the grade 4 pupils who performed a nerve racking dance number.
After grade 4 are the grade 2 pupils singing “Thank You” song followed by grade 1 pupils
with their “Tulang Pasasalamat.” At exactly 10:00, the program ceased for a while to utter
the prayer “Panalangin para sa mga Guro”. After the prayer, the grade 5 and grade 6
pupils offered a dance number to the teachers.
After the program, the pupils offered simple tokens to their advisers. Also, PTA
officers and MC Donald prepared snack and lunch as their token of appreciation among
the teachers of Balagtas Heights.

Celebration like this is indeed what teachers need this for us to be more inspired
and work harder in honing the pupils not just to be better pupils but to be more responsible
citizens.
