I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Demonstrates understanding of the interior of the Earth using
information from volcanoes
B. Performance Standard Participate in making informed decisions based on identified
permanent danger zones around active volcanoes
Shows emergency preparedness before, during and after a volcanic
eruption including following advisories regarding alert levels and calls
for evacuation given by responsible government agencies
C. Learning competencies Describes the different types of volcanoes
D. Objectives Diifferentiate volcanoes according to iits cone shape
Create a volcano made from indigeneous materials
II. CONTENT
Volcanoes according to the shape of the cone
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References A. References: Integrated Science 9 p. 202
B. Materials:
● newspaper, 350 ml plastic bottle, glue, scratch paper, paint,
paint brush, cardboard, etc.
IV. PROCEDURES
Gaining Attention
The teacher will show pictures of volcanoes with different cone shapes and will asks the students to differentiate the
physical appearances of these volcanoes.
Informing Learners
The teacher will present the objectives of the day to the class.

Recap
The teacher will asks some students to give a recap of the topic last meeting about volcanoes according to the
continuity of eruption.
Presenting Stimulus Material
The teacher will formally discuss the new lesson about the different volcanoes according to the shape of its cone.
Exercises/ Practices/ Drills
The students will be grouped into three. Each group will create a volcano with a particular cone shape made from
indigeneous materials. The volcano’s cone shape will depend on what the group’s representative had picked.
Feedbacking
The teacher will asks some students to give a summary of the lesson for the day. Then, the teacher will generalize
the answers of the students.
Assessment
The teacher will give each students activity sheet wherein they will categorize the different volcanoes as SHIELD,
COMPOSITE and CINDER cones.
