Canopus Field is an offshore

field located on the northern

ocean. the reservoir of interest is

the reservoir in the frigg

formation with the lithology of

sandstone. this reservoir has a

pressure of 2585 psia and

PRODUCTION
FACILITIES
Oil will be drained from reservoir, streamed to platform to

the process facilities. The production system begins at the

wellhead, the size of the opening in the choke determines

the flow rate.

Next step is to separate the well stream into three

components, typically called “phases” (oil, gas, and water),

and process these phases into some marketable product(s)

or dispose of them in an environmentally acceptable

manner. In mechanical devices called “separators,” gas is

flashed from the liquids and “free water” is separated from

the oil.

Compression is typically done by engine-driven

reciprocating compressors.

The water that is produced with crude oil can be disposed

of overboard in most offshore areas, Water treating can be

done in horizontal or vertical skimmer vessels, which look

very much like separators. Then oil treated in wash tank,

stored in storage tank, then transported to sales point

through oil piping.

IMPACT ANALYSIS

An environmental impact analysis is typically conducted to

assess the potential impact a proposed development project
will have on the natural and social environment. This may
include an assessment of both the short- and long-term effects
on the physical environment, such as air, water and/or noise
pollution; as well as effects on local services, living and health
standards, and aesthetics.

CONCLUSION
Reservoir has a pressure of 2585 psia with a reservoir temperature of 142oF and has a type of fluid Black Oil with the
mechanism of the form of Gas Cap Drive.

The addition of 7 wells is sufficient to develop the Canopus field economically with 1 platform.

The production rate of wells in the Canopus field varies with net pay. In the existing well the production capacity of C
well is 4747 STB / day, A well is 631 STB / day, and well F is 2174 STB / day

Production rates of existing wells and infill wells have been optimized by lowering Pwf to increase pressure gradient
and increase production rate. Recovery Factor from selected scenario, scenario 2 is 10.9%

The addition of 7 wells is considered sufficient to develop the Canopus field economically with 1 platform
On the Canopus field, there are no plans to add production facilities or other activities that are endeavored to extend oil
wells. Because at the next stage will be planned development of gas field.

Scenario 2 is a selected scenario from 4 scenarios that exist with consideration of data accuracy and high confidence in
the success of 4 infill wells. At a later stage of development where better data are available, consideration will be given
to adding infill wells and conversion of oil reservoirs to gas reservoirs.

Some safety rules that must be maintained include hygiene and regularity, the presence of personal protective
equipment, good handling of chemicals, fire, and keep from noise
Environmental impacts arising from exploration and exploitation activities are liquid, solid, and gaseous waste
Need to hold ASR at the end of closing of activities to return it to its original condition
Scenario 2 gives the best result with the value of NPV 10%, 147 MMUSD, IRR 52% and pay out time 3 years.
Price indicator has high sensitivity compared to others.
