the class participants. Topics such as field service responsibilities are explained 
here, as well as defining tethered versus untethered tasks and a list of which tasks 
fall into each of these categories.

Ensure participants understand that the course is split into self‐study/reference and ILT/VILT 
segments. The pre‐assessment and self‐study modules should have been completed prior 
to the ILT/VILT classroom event. 

The ILT/VILT content focuses on utilizing simulators for the EqualLogic Group Manager user 
interface, cabling exercises, break‐fix tasks and the post‐assessment/certification.

Ensure the participants are well aware of the expectations for self‐study tasks and usage of 
reference content during service calls as on‐demand onsite reference material.

Ensure the participants are well aware that they will be tested on all break/fix and 
installation/deployment tasks regardless of role.

Explain to the participants that although many of the topics covered throughout this course 
fall outside of the scope of responsibility, they are provided with the intent of providing 
additional information to improve general knowledge and the ability to speak and 
understand basic EqualLogic terminology in order to improve overall customer 
satisfaction. Some of these topics are also useful if the field service representative is 
required to provide any advanced tasks while onsite during tethered operations with Dell 
EqualLogic PS series support. 

Inform the participants that their primary goal is to provide a great customer experience. 
They should be knowledgeable of the EqualLogic PS series product line and be able to 
talk to the associated technologies and relay a sense of confidence to the customer.

Purpose:
The Dell EqualLogic PS Series Sales Demo Tool is For Demonstration Purposes ONLY. 
This tool allows demonstrations of PS Series array functionality on a laptop or PC. It 
uses virtual machine technology. Please note that since the demo tool is for 
Demonstration Purposes ONLY, it has no High Availability features. Any disk failures, 
power failures, or virtual host system restarts that are not preceded by a shutdown 
of the PS demo array (using the CLI or GUI) could require that you reset or 
reconfigure the demo array.
