Dear Colleagues,

Assalamu’alaikum wr. wb.

Infectious and Tropical Diseases Working Group in collaboration with the Indonesian Pediatric
Society Banten Branch proudly present The First Annual Scientific Meeting of Pediatric
Infectious Diseases, a continuing medical education which provides novelty progress in
Pediatric Infectious diseases.

There will be hot topics in our country, how to diagnose and how to manage the patients from
clinicians view. Top national speakers also take part in this meeting.

Participants from various regions of Indonesia will participate in presenting scientific posters
and oral presentation on infectious diseases issues

Finally, We hope this meeting will increase the knowledge and competence for all
Pediatricians in Indonesia

GREETING MESSAGE

Dear Colleagues,

Assalamu’alaikum wr. wb.

It is an honor to welcome you to the first Annual Scientific Meeting of Pediatric Infectious
Disease (ASMP-ID) 2018, that is organized by the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Working
Group in collaboration with the Indonesian Pediatric Society Banten Branch. This event will be
held on October 27-28, 2018 at Novotel Tangerang.

Experts in this event will discuss the most actual and current pediatric Infectious disease issues
such as vaccine-preventable diseases, management of Dengue viral infection and
management of fever as the most common symptom we find in our daily practice.

The use of inappropriate and excessive antibiotics in our country can promote the emergence
of bacteria resistance. This becomes more problematic, especially in the lack of laboratory
facilities. Therefore, with this opportunity we provide "Empirical antibiotics for infectious
diseases" workshop to help practitioners use the antibiotics appropriately.

We hope that you will be able to benefit from the knowledge and skills provided in this event
to improve Indonesian child health. We look forward for your participation.

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION WILL BE CLOSED ON August 30, 2018 AT 23:59 WIB

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Abstracts should be submitted via electronic mail, to ASMPID.Indonesia@gmail.com


2. Any submission by fax or post will not be considered.
3. All abstracts must be written in English.
4. All topics either oral or poster presentation must be correlated to Pediatric Infectious and Tropical
Diseases
5. It is the author’s responsibility to submit the correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or
scientific fact in the abstract text will be reproduced as typed by the author.
6. Abstracts must be original and will not be considered for presentation if they have been published
as an article or have been accepted for publication (including manuscripts) in printed or
electronic formats upon August 30, 2018 (submission deadline).
7. Abstract submission will be closed on August 30, 2018 at 23:59 WIB. No further edits to abstracts,
author additions or changes to author information will be possible after this date.
8. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to corresponding authors by September 29, 2018.
9. Abstracts will be inserted in the Proceeding Book only if the Submitter/Presenter had already
completed the registration payment by August 30, 2018. Otherwise, the abstract will not be inserted
in the Proceeding Book and your presentation schedule will be replaced by another participant.

RULES

1. The submitting author must be the presenting author.


2. The Committee will endeavor to schedule abstracts according to authors' preferences but reserves
the right to decide on the final form of presentation.
3. The presenting author is expected to attend the Conference and present their abstract. Presenting
authors of abstracts must be registered participants.
4. The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the
abstract before submission to the Secretariat.
5. All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling
of a quality suitable for publication.
6. All submitted abstracts will be forwarded to the Committee for review. Notifications regarding
status will be sent once the review process is complete.
7. Preparation of abstract requirements:

8. Presentation type (please choose from one of the following):
o Oral presentation

9. Author and co-authors' details (maximum of 20 authors):
o Full first and family name(s) without titles
o Affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
10. Abstract title: Limited to 25 words in UPPER CASE
11. Abstract text: Limited to 300 words
12. Abstract topic strictly limited only to Pediatric Infectious and Tropical Diseases
13. Tables: A maximum of 1 table of up to 7 rows x 10 columns can be included per abstract
14. Graphs and images: It is important to note that each image included in the abstract is worth 30
words. A maximum of 3 images can be included per abstract. The maximum file size of each
graph/image is 500 KB. The maximum pixel size of the graph/image is 600(w) x 800(h) pixel. You may
upload graphs in JPG, GIF or PNG format.

ABSTRACT STRUCTURE

Submitted abstract should be formed in these following streams:


1. Clinical audit, prospective survey or retrospective study, clinical trial, meta- analysis. The abstract
should clearly state:
o Background: indicate the purpose and objective of the research, the hypothesis that was
tested or a description of the problem being analyzed or evaluated.
o Method: describe the study period / setting / location, study design, study population, data
collection and methods of analysis used.
o Result: present as clearly and in much detail as possible of the findings / outcome of the study,
Please summarize any specific results.
o Conclusion: explain the significance of your findings / outcomes of the study for prevention,
treatment, care and/or support, and future implications of the results.
2. Case Report or Case Series. The abstract should clearly state :
o Background: summarize the case in a sentence, briefly describe the importance and novelty
of your case
o Case Presentation Summary: narrate your case systematically, include relevant positive and
negative findings from history-examination-investigation, any interventions and outcome,
and can include clinical photographs.
o Learning Points/Discussion: summarize the clinical impact or potential implications of the case
report

2. After you submit your abstract, please inform the Committee by texting to the hotline
number +62-81220278902 (Arie) with information containing: author, date and time of the
E-mail sent.
3. If you wish to update or edit your abstract, you can re-send the E-mail to the address replied from
the Committee, and notify back for the update. Submitted abstracts cannot be modified or
corrected after the submission deadline.
4. You will receive confirmation that your abstract has been received, indicating the abstract number
which it has been allocated. Please refer to this abstract number in all correspondence regarding
the abstract.

FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

Poster Guideline & Format

 Overview: The amount of text should be minimized to convey the pertinent information related to
the presentation. Text font should be large enough to read easily from a 2 meter distance.
 Introduction: Few brief sentences that state the purpose of study.
 Method: Methodology used to conduct the study.
 Result: State outcome of the study such as illustrations, tables, figures, graphs, photos, flow charts,
etc.
 Conclusion: Briefly discusses the data and the significance of the result outlining a summarized list
of recommendations.

1. All posters should be in portrait layout, measuring 130cm height x 90cm wide.
2. Please prepare your poster on one sheet of paper. Please note that we do not offer printing
facility prior or during the Conference, so you are advised to make sure to prepare the poster
prior coming to the Conference.
3. The information flow should be uniform, i.e. either from top to bottom or from left to right, but not
both.

Format Posters:

4. Title, authors and institutional affiliation should be prominently displayed along the top of the poster
(including the title of the poster, authors’ name, and organizations).
5. Each chart or table should have a label or explanation.
6. The heading should be in a constant format.
7. The text, illustrations, etc. should be bold enough to be read from a distance of 2 meters
8. It is the responsibility of the presenter to display and collect the posters.
9. Handouts are recommended to be available for people interested in the topic.
10. Authors are requested to be available to discuss the data with the attendees.

PREPARATION FOR POSTER PRESENTATION


1. Presentation Time: 7 minutes presentation + 5 minute Q&A.
2. The presenters must remain near the poster area during the poster presentation session.

PREPARATION GUIDELINES
FOR ORAL PRESENTATION

1. Presentation Time: 6 minutes presentation + 3 minutes Q&A


2. Presentation slides should be prepared with MS Power Point version 2003 or higher.
3. Slides size must be set to standard (4:3).
4. Presenters are requested to check and submit their final version of presentation files in the pre-
view room at least 4 hours before their presentations at the slide counter. You should check your
presentation file whether it works correctly in our system. If combining video films with PowerPoint,
please make sure to check it in the session hall where your presentation will take place – even
after checking it in the pre-view room.
5. Computers with Windows Operating System (no Apple or other Operating System) and beam
projector will be provided.
6. The computer used in the presentation will be provided by the Organizing Committee.

2. Registration will be using Google Form, with step-by-step confirmation. If there is any difficulty in filling
the form, do not hesitate to contact our scientific team via WhatsApp at +62-81220278902 (Arie) or E-

3. After the online form registration closed (October 15, 2018), registration will only be done on-site.
4. Registration should be done individually not in groups.
5. Please enter the NPA IDAI number for pediatrician or personal identity number for other profession.
6. Please enter your phone number and E-mail address as further information will be sent via SMS or E-mail.
7. Free registration are eligible for:
• Participants 65 years old and older (IDAI only)
• Speakers on: Keynote Speech, Lunch Symposia, Workshops.
Note: For those speakers who have paid the registration fee & uploaded the payment proof will get
reimbursement after the event.
8. Registration process is FINAL if the payment proof has been sent by WhatsApp to the treasurer

Hotel Reservation Procedure
