Shout with Joy before the Lord, O earth!
Obey him gladly; come before him, singing with joy.
We learn what this means – the Lord is God!
He made us – we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Go through his open gates with great thanksgiving; enter his
courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name.
For the Lord is always good. He is always loving and kind,
his faithfulness goes on and on to each succeeding
generation. And together we pray:
Opening Prayer: Paraphrase of Psalm 138 – (FGC)
Gracious Lord, we sing your praises and worship you.
Giving thanks to you for your loving kindness and
faithfulness. Your promises are upheld by the honour of
your name. Through our prayers you give us strength
needed. You Lord work out the plans for our lives and your
love continues forever. Amen.
Let Us with a Gladsome Mind
Prayer of Confession: (paraphrase – Romans 12: 9-21-FGC)
Forgiving Lord, you do not pretend to love us, you give
everything to us. While you have loved us into being, we
have sometimes pretended to love others, but know that is
wrong. You have taught us to resist evil, but we still
become drawn into the way of it. Your guide us to honour
and respect others, and we get caught up in our own
selves, and fail to do so. When someone harms us, we are
asked to pray for them. Sometimes we struggle to find the
time to do as you urge us to do. Forgive our quarrels with
those we love, and lead us to find peace in your love. May
your constant mercies continue to sustain us we pray.
Words of Assurance:
Be assured, the Lord is your constant companion, and you will
be led in his way day by day. God’s forgiveness is ever at hand,
and creates a new person within us. Thanks be to God. Amen
