This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge, education, and the
period of employment of nurses. The research subjects were nurses in the surgery and
internal disease at the Berkah Pandeglang Hospital in 2018 which began from
November to January. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 33
respondents. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire. This study was
tested using univariate tests to view images and bivariate (chi-square) to see
relationships. Based on the bivariate test there was a significant relationship between
knowledge, with the implementation of the hand over with a value of p = 0.000, then
if the nurse's knowledge is good then the better implementation of the hand over done
and vice versa. Whereas, there was no significant relationship between education and
work period with the implementation of hand over with a value of p = 0.256 for
education, and p = 1,000 for years of service. Therefore, nurses should improve their
knowledge and abilities through education and training related to patient hand over.
