communication that has globalized the world because it has allowed us to communicate with
people from other countries with family members that we did not see long ago, it has also
allowed us to meet new people and also apart, from being a great invention to communicate, it
has also been a medium that has created great problems in the world such as those that have
already been analyzed, but in reality, is the use of Social media bad?
Before expressing my opinion regarding social media, I would like to establish the role
technology plays in our day from a Latter-day Saint viewpoint. Brother Randall L. Ridd
described this role with the following words "The divine purpose of technology is to have the
work of salvation ... The Lord expects you to use these great tools to take His work to the next
level, to share the gospel in ways that are beyond my generation's wildest imagination. Where
they are past, their neighbors and their town, you have the power through the Internet and social
media to reach beyond borders and influence the whole world. "(Randall, 2014). Being Social
Media the tool par excellence to communicate and spread messages and knowledge, it is not
surprising that the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have urged their
members to use social media sharing with the whole world your beliefs about Jesus Christ
Today we are facing a paradigm shift regarding the concept of communication, in which
the use and abuse of social media generate positive and / or negative impacts on cognitive,
affective, social and identity development in society. the constant and systematic supervision that
guides, educates, modulates and controls access to all the technological tools that are occupying
much of the time and the "intrapsychic" and "real" space of people in training and development.
It is essential that adults self-educate and that they are constantly acquiring knowledge to
supervise their children in these areas, along with being an example of good use. The guidance
and education that adults can make, both in the generation of computer filters and in the
development of the self-control and self-management capacity on the web, are indispensable
aspects that can determine how these new technologies are used and how they are used. this, the
Knowledge of the personality traits of people and adolescents provides a large amount of
information about the likelihood that they will overuse social media and the internet. This can be
a very important element in the planning of an intervention at school and family level. The
controlled and supervised use of social media has shown important benefits in patients with brain
trauma who receive rehabilitation. It also appears associated with the development of feelings of
offline, sex education, health promotion and prevention (tobacco, alcohol, drugs, eating habits,
The benefits and risks involved in the use of new technologies as communication entities and the
reality the bad thing is people who misuse them and do not measure the consequences of their
actions or obsess in such a way the social media that their world only revolves around them and
they lock themselves in their little world of social media, leaving their real life their social life
aside.
It's my opinion that social media is a wonderful invention that has helped many people
but we must use it in moderation not to exaggerate its use and thus allow us to be more users but
we have good results using them and we do not believe a bad for society through them, because
social media have achieved reunions between families have managed to create new friendships
have managed to socialize more but as I said before everything should be with moderation
because it is the only way you can enjoy one hundred percent all activity.
In conclusion, social media is an invention that has revolutionized the world that has
created a new generation that is of great help and has become necessary in our lives allows us to
know, explore and inform us. For this reason, we must use it with moderation very carefully in
order to avoid inconveniences that affect our lives we must use them if we exceed them.
