SECTION A - GENERAL DESCRIPTION


A01 GENERAL
The vessel described herein is a twin-engined propeller-driven crew boat of all-welded aluminium
alloy construction designed for duties in coastal service within 20 miles of land. The vessel shall
be constructed generally in accordance with the General Arrangement.
At the operation draft, the vessel shall carry a total complement of thirty six (36) passengers and
eight (8) crew with sleeping accommodation, washroom and mess room.
Fuel oil and fresh water tanks are distributed to achieve best possible usage under trimmed
conditions.
The aluminium deck/wheelhouse is provided with an all round view for manoeuvring suitable for
its duties.
Engines are remote controlled from inside the air-conditioned wheelhouse.
A02 SITE CONDITIONS
The vessel, machinery and all equipment are to be suitable for operation under tropical
conditions. Allowance is to be made for ambient air temperatures of 45℃, seawater temperatures
of 32℃.

A04 CAPACITIES

A05 PERFORMANCE & SPEED
The vessel shall be capable of achieving 22 knots speed at lightship plus five (5) tonnes of
designated payload with main engines running at 100% MCR in calm sea conditions.
A06 DOCK TRIALS
During the dock trials propulsion machinery, all engine room auxiliary machinery, and all deck
machinery is to be thoroughly tested.
All pipeline systems and associated valves and cock and ventilation systems are to be fully
tested. A complete check is to be made that all valves have correct nameplates.
Electric power station, with all lights burning, are to run for a reasonable period of time with
machinery operating at full power. Before dock trials of main machinery commence all auxiliary
machinery is to have been previously tried out and proven to be in good working order.
All necessary gauges and thermometers are to be in place for trials. The drinking water and
sanitary systems are to be in continuous operation during trials, and each tap, water closet,
shower, etc, together with all fittings is to be operated.
Ventilation supplies and exhausts gas systems, air-conditioning, and all piping systems, with all
pipes and fittings are to be in satisfactory operation during trials.
The bilge and fire / general service pumps are to be operated on their respective systems.
All tanks are to be adequately tested before filling.
A07 SEA TRIALS
Sea trials shall be conducted with the designated payload of five (5) tonnes.

Sea trials are to be carried out in accordance with a standard program approved by the
Classification Society. During sea trials, the vessel is to be under the command of an experienced
Master nominated by the Builder who will supply the necessary crew. The Builder is to arrange
the catering and supply of all victuals and equipment at his own cost.
All fuel oil, lubrication oil, fresh water, pilotage, and dues for the trials are to be paid for by the
Builder. The diesel fuel oil and lubricating oil remaining on board will be taken over by the Owner
and paid for at current rates.
The compass shall be adjusted before sea trials. Speed trials are to be carried out in accordance
with the procedure for "Measured Mile Trials". They are to consist of an agreed number of double
runs on an approved measured mile for a range of power settings. Records for speed shall be
based upon the readings output by the GPS.
With the vessel under full headway and the main engines running at 100% MCR, the propulsion
is to be stopped and reversed to full astern. After the vessel has reached full astern way and with
the engines running at their full power, the propulsion is to be stopped and reversed to full ahead
and the vessel is to run until the ship has fully headway. The course, time and distances for these
manoeuvres are to be recorded.
Full power and continuous endurance trials are to be carried out for a period of two (2) hours.
Throughout the period a full set of readings is to be taken at thirty-minute intervals.
Full steering trials are to be carried out, in accordance with the procedure required by the
Classification Society. Anchor trials are to be conducted.
A08 CLASSIFICATION
The vessel is to be designed and constructed in accordance with the rules and requirements of
American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for such type vessel.
The vessel should be classed as Crewboat in Tropical coastal area.
Registration of the vessel and all Flag Authority requirements are Owner's work scope.
Owner shall obtain exemptions from the Classification Society and Flag Authority to ensure
statutory compliance with the HSC notation.
A09 CERTIFICATES
The following certificates are to be supplied to Owner. One set of the following certificates shall
be placed on board the vessel:
1) Builder’s Certificate
2) Classification Certificate
3) Safety Construction (Statement of Fact)
4) Safety Equipment Survey Certificate
5) Tonnage ILLC 1969 (Statement of Fact)
6) Compass Deviation Card
7) Machinery Certificates (directly from manufacturers)
8) Pollution Prevention (as applicable)
A10 DRAWINGS
Working plans prepared by the Builder are to be submitted to Owners through Cybermarine
Technologies Pte Ltd for review and approval and subsequently submitted to the Classification
Society for approval, where applicable before the relevant work is put in hand. One set of Class
approved and stamped drawings shall be provided to Owner.
On completion of construction, one (1) set of paper prints of all drawings, amended to show the
vessel "As fitted" are to be handed over with the vessel.
All drawings are to be in English text with dimensions consistently in metric units.

A11 INSTRUCTION BOOKS
Two (2) copies of instruction books, maintenance manuals and spare parts lists in English, for all
items of machinery and equipment as per manufacturers supplies are to be handed over to the
Owner at the time of delivery of the vessel.

SECTION B - HULL AND OUTFITTING


B01 GENERAL CONSTRUCTION
The vessel is to be combined longitudinally and transversely framed throughout the main hull.
The main engine girders are to be efficiently integrated with the bottom hull structure.
The hull shall be deep V-design with single bottom and single hard chine.
In way of deck machinery, mooring fittings and elsewhere as required, welded deck plates of
increased thickness may be used for reinforcement and the structure in way shall be adequately
strengthened.
The fully welded construction will be carried out according to the Classification Society
requirements.
Two (2) sea chests will be provided as required.
B02 MATERIALS
The main hull and deckhouse are to be constructed throughout of aluminium extrusions, plates
and sections and approved by the Classification Society. Materials shall be Aluminium Alloy to
5083-H1116 and 5083-H111.
B03 WORKMANSHIP
Workmanship is to be of good quality and meet usual marine practices standards.
B04 SCANTLINGS
All scantlings are designed to the Classification Society's approval for the thickness of plating or
sections.
B05 TANKS - GENERAL
The fuel oil and fresh water tanks are to be constructed as part of the vessel’s structure and be
arranged as shown on the General Arrangement.
All fuel oil and fresh water tanks are each to be provided with the following fittings:
a) Manholes with bolted cover plate
b) Air pipes with float-ball where necessary
c) Sounding pipes
d) Filling pipes
The fuel oil, fresh water tanks and the buoyancy spaces are to be tested to the Classification
Society requirements prior to launching.
When each compartment is air or hose tested, care is to be taken to ensure that all associated
air, filling, sounding and suction pipes are fitted in place and subjected to the same pressure.
B06 FLOOR PLATES IN ENGINE ROOM
Aluminium floor plates with anti-skid profile are fitted with removable panels within the engine
room for walkways.
B07 ENGINE ROOM PORTABLE PANEL
One (1) portable panel bolted at the main deck shall be located above the engine room for easy
access of main and auxiliary equipment into the compartment.
B08 FUEL OIL TANKS
The vessel is provided with built-in fuel oil tanks. The tanks will be fitted with all necessary filling
and air pipes.
B09 FRESH WATER TANKS
The vessel is provided with freshwater tanks. These tanks shall be provided with all necessary air
and filling pipes. The location of this tank will be decided as required by the final designed center
of gravity requirements.

Proprietary tubular rubber fenders will be provided at the forward & aft ends of the vessel as
shown on the General Arrangement. Tyre fenders will be fitted on the sides of the vessel (max 8
on each side) will be provided with lashing lugs as shown in the General Arrangement.
B11 HANDRAILS & DECK COAMING
Stanchioned handrails (0.8m high) are to be fitted all round the sides and aft at main deck as
shown on the General Arrangement. The stanchions will be located 300mm inboard of the all-
round deck coaming (200mm above main deck) and suitably anchored.
The top rail is to be 32mm nominal diameter aluminium pipe. Stanchions shall be flat bars spaced
not more than 1.5m apart.
Additionally, handrails will also be provided on the wheelhouse to facilitate walking around to the
forward end of the vessel.
In the event the height & arrangement of the handrails is not accepted by the Classification
Society, Owner shall seek exemption for the same.
B12 MAST
A fixed mast profiled as shown on the General Arrangement Drawing to be installed and fitted
with the following:
- Mountings for navigation lights
- Mountings for communication and navigation antennae
- Mountings for light and sound signals.
B13 LADDERS
Vertical ladder of aluminium construction at aft of the deckhouse from main deck to deckhouse
top shall be installed.
Vertical ladders constructed with 50mm x 9mm flat bar rails and 19mm diameter twisted tube
rungs shall be fitted for access to all tanks, engine room and below deck buoyancy spaces.
B14 DECK COVERINGS
All external decks are to be primed and painted with non-slip coating. The aft deck area will be
covered by wooden planking. Cargo tie down rings shall be provided.
In the following spaces the deck is to be laid with rubber tiles or carpet, depending on weight
control assessment :
- Wheelhouse
- Accommodation on main deck
- Accommodation below main deck
B15 WINDOWS
Windows of toughened glass and anodised aluminum frames are to be fitted for the wheelhouse
as shown on the General Arrangement.
Windows shall be fitted in the wheelhouse front, sides and aft bulkhead to ensure good line of
vision to the fore deck and aft. These windows are to be glazed with toughened glass of
thickness in accordance with Classification Society requirements.
B16 CATHODIC PROTECTION
Sacrificial anodes are to be fitted to protect the external hull below the waterline against
corrosion. The anodes are to be selected to give one-year life in tropical waters and shall be fitted
in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations.
Care is to be taken that paint is not applied over the anodes.
B17 NAME & DRAFT MARKS
The name of the vessel is to be painted on the port and starboard bow. The name and port of
registry of the vessel are to be painted at the transom.

The draft marks are to be marked in metres in English numerals. The numbers are to be 100mm
height, spaced 200mm apart with the bottom edge of each figure corresponding to the marked
level.
B18 PAINTING
All external aluminium works (hull and superstructure) shall be cleaned and fully coated
according to paint manufacturer's specifications.
B19 OWNERS LOGO
Owners insignia (LOGO) shall be painted on either side of the vessel superstructure.

SECTION C - DECK MACHINERY AND FITTINGS


C01 ANCHOR WINDLASS / CAPSTAN
The anchor windlass shall be 380V AC three phase electric driven with a single gypsy and single
warping capstan head. The whole unit is supported rigidly on fabricated pedestal base welded on
main deck.
C02 ANCHOR AND ANCHOR CHAIN / ROPE
One (1) high holding power bower type anchor with a short length chain and wire rope shall be
provided to Classification Society requirements.
A stowage bracket shall be provided on the forward raised deck on the centerline.
C03 MOORING FITTINGS
Six (6) nos. mooring double bitts shall be located on the aft and midship main deck and forward
raised deck generally as shown in the General Arrangement.
C04 STEERING
Hydraulic steering shall be provided at the forward control position in the wheelhouse and at the
aft control station. Emergency steering to suit Classification Society shall be provided.

C05 BOW THRUSTER


Bow thruster shall be provided at forward compartment. The supply power for thruster shall be
30kw with electrical motor driven. The bow thruster will produce 400kg thrust.

SECTION D - ACCOMMODATION
DOI GENERAL
Accommodation is to be arranged for a total complement of thirty six (36) passengers in seats on
main deck. Four (4) cabins for eight (8) crew shall be provided below main deck, with mess and
galley.
All enclosed living spaces in the accommodation on and below main deck and wheelhouse shall
be air-conditioned.
All furniture and paneling shall be made out of fire retardant panels.
D02 MESS / GALLEY
The mess / galley area shall be fitted with a dining table with cushioned seating capacity suitable
for eight(8) crew.
The galley shall be equipped with :
1) 1 x electric hot plate cooking range
2) 1 x galley sink
3) 1 x refrigerator with freezer compartment.
D03 TWO-MEN CABIN (2 Nos.)
The cabins shall be fitted with:
1) 1 x two tier bunk, each with single size mattress
2) 2 x clothes locker complete with shelf and hanger rod
3) 1 x desk with drawers
4) 1 x upholstered chair
5) 2 x pillow.
D04 TWO-MEN CABIN (2 Nos.)
The cabin shall be fitted with:
1) 1 x two tier bunk, each with single size mattress
2) 2 x clothes locker complete with shelf and hanger rod
3) 2 x side shelf
4) 2 x pillow.
D05 WASHPLACE
Two (2) washplaces shall be arranged with one (1) on main deck and the other inside the
accommodation area below main deck.
Each of these washplaces shall be fitted as follows:
1) 1 x manual water closet
2) 1 x washbasin
3) 1 x mirror fronted toilet cabinet
4) 2 x towel hook
5) 1 x toilet paper holder
6) 1 x storm rail.
Additionally, one (1) shower unit will be provided in the crew wash place below main deck.
D06 INSULATION
The exposed bulkheads and deckheads forming the external boundary of the areas listed are to
be lined with minimum 50mm fibreglass wool (or equivalent) behind panels in each of the
following spaces. Insulation thickness shall be adequate to minimise heat gain / cool air transfer.
- Mess / Galley Area
- Wheelhouse
- Crew cabins.

D07 LININGS & PARTITIONS


Aluminium Honeycomb Linings shall be used for the following areas :
- Mess / Galley Area
- Wheelhouse
- Crew Cabins.
D08 DOORS
All weather-tight or water-tight doors shall be of aluminium construction and closed by an
adequate number of dogs.
All non-watertight internal doors to be of wood or aluminium honeycomb with laminate face on
both sides.
Doorstoppers, ajar hooks and means of securing in the open-position are to be fitted on all
hinged doors.
D09 AIR CONDITIONING AND ACCOMMODATION VENTILATION
The accommodation space throughout will be air-conditioned. Air conditioning will be provided for
the following spaces to maintain a temperature of 27℃ at an ambient temperature of 35℃.
- Mess / Galley Area
- Wheelhouse
- Crew Cabins.
Air handling units shall be provided in the main deck cabin, one unit at wheelhouse and one at aft
end of cabin. A separate air handling unit with air ducts to cabins, mess and galley shall be
provided below main deck. The capacity of each unit will be designed to provide a comfortable
environment.
Wash places shall have natural ventilation with exhaust fans.

SECTION E - BRIDGE NAVIGATION AND COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT


E01 WHEELHOUSE
The wheelhouse shall be fitted as follows:
1) A wheelhouse console shall incorporate the chart table and for mounting engine room
machinery instrumentation, steering controls, communication and navigation equipment.
2) 1 set international code flags
3) 2 x helmsman chair
4) I x marine clock
5) 1 x marine binoculars (7 X 50) stowed in a box
6) 2 x front window wiper
7) Navigation aids switch panel with indicators
8) Switch panel for deck lights and searchlight
9) Battery charger.
E02 EXTERNAL OUTFITTING
The following are to be fitted on the wheelhouse top:
1) 1 x 1000w Searchlight on wheelhouse top & operable from inside the wheelhouse
2) 2 x 250w Floodlight with one (1) facing the fore deck and the other facing the aft deck
3) 1 x Emergency battery housed in a ventilated battery box located behind the wheelhouse.
E03 NAVIGATION LIGHT & SIGNALS
The following navigation lights are to be supplied all in accordance with the Classification Society
requirements and fitted or stowed as appropriate.
- One (1) complete set electric (24V) navigation lights (operable on battery), comprising:
¾ 1 x masthead light
¾ 1 x port light
¾ 1 x starboard light
¾ 1 x stern light
¾ 1 x anchor light
¾ 2 x NUC light
¾ 1 x aldis lamp
- One (1) complete set day signals consisting of three (3) black balls and one (1) diamond
shapes.
E04 COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT
- One (1) complete set Marine VHF/FM radiotelephone 25w installed in the Wheelhouse
- One (1) complete set PA/Siren system with the microphone inside the Wheelhouse and the
Loudhailer speaker mounted on the wheelhouse top incorporated with 4-station Intercom
system at the following locations:
¾ Wheelhouse
¾ Accommodation below deck
¾ Captain’s cabin below main deck
¾ Engine room.
All equipment shall be supplied with Operator's Manual.
E05 NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT
- 1 x Magnetic liquid table compass to be installed at Wheelhouse console
- 1 x Depth sounder
- 1 x Radar 32 NM (X-band) range
- 1 x GPS

SECTION F - LIFE SAVING & FIRE FIGHTING & MEDICAL EQUIPMENT


F01 LIFE SAVING & SAFETY APPLIANCES
The life saving appliances and systems are to satisfy the relevant regulatory authorities as
follows:
− 2 x Inflatable 15-men Liferaft in a GRP container c/w launching rack.
− 20 x Adult Life jacket of SOLAS type-approved and to be suitably stowed.
− 02 x Child Life jacket of SOLAS type-approved and to be suitably stowed.
− 1 set of 12 parachute distress signals packed in a clearly marked watertight container
− 8 x Lifebuoy of SOLAS type-approved stowed in suitable bracketed rings comprising:
¾ 4 nos. with lifeline
¾ 2 nos. with self-igniting light
¾ 2 nos. with self-igniting light and smoke signals
− 4 x Emergency two way communication
− General emergency alarm bell
− 2 x Embarkation ladder.
F02 MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
One (1) first Aid box will be located inside the main deck accommodation.
F03 INTERNAL FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM
The arrangements for protection of the vessel against fire are to be to the approval of the
classification society but are to be not less than the following:
1) Four (4) lengths of 15m fire hose of 50mm diameter fitted with 40mm instantaneous coupling
and jet-cum-spray nozzles will stowed in red painted hose boxes.
2) Four(4) 50mm fire hydrants two (2) on the main deck and one (1) in engine room and one (1)
in Thruster room shall be provided with gate valve deliveries with 50mm female
instantaneous outlets.
3) All hose fittings, nozzles and hydrant couplings to be of gunmetal.
4) One (1) fireman's axe with insulated handle located on main deck saloon entrance.
5) Two (2) portable foam extinguishers of 9 litres capacity will be provided.
6) Three (3) water CO2 extinguishers of 9 litres capacity will be provided.
7) Three (3) DCP extinguishers of 4.5 kg capacity will be provided.
8) The accommodation and cabins shall be fitted with fire & smoke detection and fire alarm
system with one (1) push button and four (4) alarm bells.
Portable fire extinguishers, hydrants and hoses shall be suitably arranged on board in accordance
to Safety requirements.

SECTION G - MACHINERY
G01 GENERAL
The vessel shall be propelled by two (2) diesel engines coupled to conventional fixed-pitch
propellers driven through reduction gearboxes. Control of engine speed and gearbox is normally
to be from a single position in the forward wheelhouse. A secondary control station is arranged
aft of the accommodation on the main deck.
Two (2) 380V three phase 50Hz AC generators each of approx. 40kW of Perkins make are to be
fitted and arranged to provide for the vessel's general lighting and power requirements. Each
generator shall be capable of providing the full electrical load for the vessel.
G02 MAIN ENGINES & GEARBOXES
The main propulsion engines shall be two (2) CAT C18 x 4-stroke marine diesel engines each
developing 715 bhp at 2100 RPM. However.
The engines shall be arranged for 24V electric starting and be heat exchanger cooled.
Each engine shall operate under site conditions of:
- Ambient temperature : 45 OC
- Raw water temperature : 32OC.
A flexible coupling shall be fitted for connection between each engine flywheel and the reversible
reduction gearbox. Gearbox ratio shall be 2.5:1.
G03 ENGINE CONTROLS
The main engines and gearboxes are to be controlled from the wheelhouse and aft station.
The main and auxiliary engines are to be started and stopped from the engine room.
In addition, the main engines shall be capable of being stopped from inside the Wheelhouse.
G04 MAIN ENGINE & GENERATOR ALARMS
The main and auxiliary engines are each to be provided with an audio and visual alarm system to
give warning of high jacket cooling water temperature and/or low lube oil pressure and overspeed
alarm as applicable. Alarms are to be displayed in wheelhouse.
G05 TAILSHAFT
The Tailshaft shall be of manufacturer's standard supply to Classification Society approval.
G06 PROPELLERS & RUDDERS
Two (2) fixed pitch propellers shall be provided. Rotation shall be outboard, each rotating in the
opposite direction.s
Two nos. semi-balanced, double plated rudders shall be fitted, with horizontal plate frames and
soft bottom and connected to hydraulic steering. The rudders shall have adequate blade area to
ensure good steering quality. Rudder stops shall be fitted for a hard over angle of 35O Port to 35O
Starboard. The rudder shall be water tight and fitted with filling and drain plugs. The rudder shall
be flushed with hot bitumen before sealing and will be subjected to pressure test as per rule
requirements.
The rudder stock housing shall be made with a heavy top plate to take the steering gear and
watertight gland. A bearing shall be incorporated at the lower end of the housing. The bearing
and stock shall be designed to take the full side load of the rudder.
Hydraulic steering gear of suitable make, having adequate capacity for twin screw operations,
shall be supplied and fitted in the steering gear compartment, capable of turning the rudder from
35° Port to 30°Starboard at full speed ahead. The torque shall be 1.5 tonnes-meter. The
construction and materials are to be as per classification rules.
An emergency handling system shall also be provided for the steering gear as per classification
requirements.

G07 AUXILIARY ENGINES


The auxiliary engines shall be marine diesel with the alternator developing approx. 47kW
continuous output.
The engines are to be arranged for 12V battery starting.
The engines shall be complete with all necessary built-on and auxiliary equipment.
The engines and alternator shall be mounted in the engine room on a common bedplate flexibly
mounted to the ship's structure. A short length of flexible hose shall be introduced into each
pipeline where it joins the engine.
G08 ENGINE ROOM VENTILATION
Two (2) sets of engine room ventilation supply fans shall be installed in air vent trunks aft of the
wheelhouse from above main deck for the engine room.
The system shall be capable of providing adequate fresh air movement to the engine room for
combustion and ventilation.
G09 BILGE PUMPS
Five (5) electrically driven submersible pumps shall be arranged for bilging the engine room and
the spaces below the accommodation. The discharges for these pumps shall be individually led
overboard at the ship's sides within each respective compartment.
G10 GENERAL SERVICE / FIRE PUMP
One (1) belt-driven from PTO off a main propulsion engine, self-priming pump to be inside the
engine room for general service and supply to the fire hydrants distributed below and above main
deck.
A separate electric motor driven pump shall also be provided.
G11 FRESH WATER PRESSURE SET
One (1) electric driven Fresh Water Pressure set shall provide constant water flow to the galley
and washplaces in the vessel via a pressurized system. A hot water calorifier with electric heating
and connected to main engine cooling system shall be provided.
This equipment shall be located in the engine room drawing water from the freshwater tanks.
G12 AIR CONDITIONING UNITS
Raw water-cooled or air-cooled air conditioning units shall be installed to provide cooled air to the
enclosed accommodation spaces and the wheelhouse. The compressor shall be located in the
engine room.
Three (3) air handling units shall be located inside the main deck accommodation (2 units) and
crew accommodation cabins (1 unit) with their respective electric driven raw water pumps located
inside the engine room where applicable.
The discharges from the raw water pumps, if fitted, shall be led overboard at the ship's sides.

SECTION H - PIPING
H01 PIPING AND VALVES
All pipe work shall be executed in accordance with the best shipbuilding practice and to
Classification Society requirements. Valves are to be fitted for controlling the various systems.
Where pipes pass through a bulkhead or deck, bulkhead penetration fittings are to be used.
Piping is to be arranged in convenient lengths, adequately supported by clips and these clips are
to be suitably lined when used on copper pipes.
Sounding pipes, where fitted, are to be kept as straight as possible and are to reach to the lowest
possible point in the tank.
Shipbuilder is entitled to offer an alternative lightweight piping system as approved by
Classification Society.
Materials
The materials used for pipes, fittings, etc. are mentioned below. Where the Classification Society
stipulates other materials, these are to be used.

H02 EXHAUST PIPES
The exhausts gases from the main and auxiliary engines are to be led to atmosphere via
overboard discharges through shell (wet exhaust system). Water cooling shall be introduced. No
silencer is provided. Spark arrestors are not required.
The exhaust lines are to be efficiently insulated with heat resistant materials and covered by layer
of aluminium or galvanized sheeting or other proprietary material.
The exhaust pipes are to be arranged for proper support in such a manner their weight is not
transmitted to the engines.

SECTION I - ELECTRICAL
I01 GENERAL
Only good quality marine fittings shall be employed. All text is in the English language.
All electrical machines, equipment and apparatus delivered to the shipyard and awaiting
installation will be kept in a suitably ventilated dry store until required. When installed in the
vessel, they are to be properly protected from physical damage and weather.
I02 INSTALLATION STANDARDS
Installation and completion of the electrical equipment and system shall be to the Rules and
Regulations of the Classification Society for the Class and type of vessel specified.
I03 CABLES
High conductivity copper conductors, EPR insulated and CSP or PCP sheathed or equivalent to
Classification Society approval shall be used. In spaces where cables may be subject to
mechanical damage, these cables are to be armoured or suitably protected by trunking or
conduit. Cables generally to be of the multi-core type.
I04 SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
The power supply on board shall be:
a) 220V / 50 Hz AC
b) 24V DC
c) 12V DC
I05 POWER SOURCES
a) AC Power
Two (2) auxiliary units as detailed in Machinery Specification shall be installed. The
alternators shall be 220V/Single Phase/ 50 Hz.
b) DC Power for Emergency Operation
One (1) bank of 2 x 12V heavy-duty lead acid batteries of approximately 150 amp-hr. shall be
provided. These batteries are normally to be float-charged by an automatic static battery charger,
rated at approximately 30 amps and under emergency conditions to have sufficient capacity to
supply the emergency lighting and essential navigation equipment and alarms for a minimum
period of 6 hours. These batteries are to be installed in a fiberglass deck box and situated on the
wheelhouse top.
I06 ELECTRIC MOTORS
Motors are to be enclosed and protected as per manufacturer's standard.
I07 FIRE PRECAUTIONS (EMERGENCY STOP)
All ventilation fans are to be provided with emergency remote push button stops, all of which are
to be clearly marked and mounted in an approved position, outside engine room. Fire flaps shall
be provided in all ventilation ducts and be capable of being closed simultaneously when
emergency stop button is pressed. Fuel cut-off valves shall be operable from outside the engine
room.
I08 LIGHTING
All lighting throughout the vessel, except emergency lighting, shall be generally fluorescent /
down light type. Fittings shall comply with Classification Society standards. The type and
enclosures for light fittings and switches to be determined by the location of the installation.
I09 MAIN SWITCHBOARD
The main switchboard is to be of a dead front type and to be installed in the engine room. It shall
have 220V and 24V sections.
The 220V section will provide for the following :

a) Steering gear
b) Anchor windlass
c) GS/Fire pump
d) Engine room ventilation
e) Air-conditioning units
f) Hydrophore pumps
g) ER m/c
h) Accommodation lights & exhaust fans
The 24V section will provide for the following :
a) emergency lighting
b) navigation lights
c) alarms.
Instrumentation is to be as follows :
Ammeter : One for each alternator with selection switch for current measurement
Volt Meter : One for each alternator with selector switch for voltage measurement
Kilowatt Meter : One for each alternator
Frequency Meter : One for each alternator
Each alternator is fed into separate busbars. Outgoing circuits to be fed by change over switches.
Each alternator is to be protected by a moulded case circuit breaker suitably rated for overload,
short circuit protection.
All outgoing circuits to be fed by approved circuit breakers.
All terminations on the switchboards are to be of the approved type.
No provision is required for paralleling generators / alternators. Switchboard controls shall
prevent both generators running concurrently.
I10 DISTRIBUTION
Separate distribution boxes are to be provided for lighting and power.
I11 ELECTRICAL OUTLETS
Two (2) sockets are to be provided in the engine room, four (4) in the accommodation, each cabin
and galley. Sockets shall be 220V.
I12 NAVIGATION LIGHTS PANEL
Navigation lights are to be fed through a switch panel fed by 24V DC. Each navigation light shall
have a pilot indication.
Navigation switch panel shall be fitted with audible alarm to indicate power failure. Failures on the
pilot indicators should not interfere with the operation of the navigation lights.
