This study aims to determine the magnitude of the influence of discipline and
compensation on the performance of employees of the Civil Service Police Unit of the
Malang District Fire Department. The purpose of the research in the thesis entitled The
Effect of Discipline and Compensation on the Performance of the Civil Service Police
Unit in Malang Regency Fire Department is: 1) To know and analyze Discipline and
Compensation partially influence the Performance of the Civil Service Police Unit in the
Malang District Fire Department. 2) To find out and analyze Discipline and
Compensation simultaneously affect the performance of employees of the Civil Service
Police Unit in the Fire Department of Malang Regency.
This study the population is the staff of the Civil Service Police Unit in
the Malang District Fire Department, which number 31 people and they will all
be made as research samples. The results of the respondents 'observations, the
discipline can be said to be good, as indicated by the overall average value of the
respondents' statements on the discipline of 4.42. The respondent's statement of
compensation was reported well with an average rating of 4.61. And the
respondent's statement on overall performance is the respondent with an average
rating of 4.35
The results of the research conducted can be seen from the regression
analysis, which shows that the discipline and compensation variables have an
effect of 0.838 on performance, then with R square of 0.890. The value of R
(correlation coefficient) is 0.838, this correlation value shows the relationship
between the independent variables namely Discipline (X1) and Compensation
(X2) with Performance (Y) included in the strong category because it is at 0.6 -
0.9. So it can be concluded, that both disciplinary variables and compensation are
equally influential on performance. Thus the hypothesis proposed is "Discipline
and Compensation together have a positive and significant effect on
Performance".
