Official Case: Option A

Studies have shown that Gen Z-ers (Generation Z) are more practical and financially driven than
their millennial counterparts, and their preference for self-learning fuels a curiosity and concern
about personal fulfillment and social impact. SpokeHub has taken note of this new generation
entering colleges and universities all across America and the larger world. After a market
analysis, they have decided that they would like to more directly address the needs of Gen Z-ers
into or in addition to their application.

Your Challange:

How might SpokeHub support on campus life, how do applications best communicate and
interact with college students? What technical and business solutions will be needed to solve
these issues?

Note I: Any deliverable (listed on the page titled deliverables) that is submitted after the
proposed deadline will be disqualified and no points will be provided.

Note II: All teams will be presenting their final solutions in front of judges and an audience
which will also be factored into the final score.

Note III: With the exception of *Saturday’s breakfast* all meals periods are times the teams can
use at their own discretion.

Some of the criteria teams will be judged on include:

A. Presentation Delivery & Communication/Polish - The ability to effectively “pitch” the


proposed solution to a panel of judges
B. Innovation/Creativity - Functionality, innovation, and usability of the technology
developed
C. Clear documents and supporting details/sources
D. Q&A - Demonstrated mastery of the proposed solution

During the duration of the competition, mentors may join and leave the assigned team rooms to
provide feedback, these individuals are here to help but the solutions you develop will be all your
own!
