MONGOLIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

OUR SUCCESS Mongolian National Universi-


ty has been carrying out undergraduate,
postgraduate and doctoral course of
studies over 225 qualifications. More than
13000 students study at the university and
over 700 professors and lecturers work in
11 schools. At present the MNU comprises
over 200 student development clubs.

There are 70 start-up compa-


nies, 5 school buildings and facilities 4 fac-
tories, 4 tourist camps, 1 hotel as well as
a newly-built dormitory housing domestic
and international students. Totally 80 billion
tugriks investment was made into the edu-
cation sector in the last 2 years. It must be
noted that the Innovation and Technology
Center is being built for the first time in
Mongolia and a Medical Center, equipped
with modern medical diagnostic equipment
and with 200-bed capacity. Also it found-
ed Mongolian and American “Mongol Od”
Joint Secondary School Complex, and Uni-
versal Polytechnic College.

We have been jointly imple-


menting numerous major projects with for-
eign universities such as training on first aid
with Medical School of Stanford University,
“Solar” project with California University
and “Greenhouse” project with the gov-
ernment of Netherlands and Singapore.

We cooperate with over 50
universities of 26 countries such as Peo-
ple’s Republic of China, the South Korea,
Russian Federation, The United States of
America, England, Norway, Japan, Cana-
da, Taiwan, India and Germany and so on
in the field of research and training activity
as well as teacher and student exchange
programs are being conducted.

It is noteworthy that the Mon-


golian National University is the largest pri-
vate university, which is fully provided with
learning environment, and teaching staff
and facility, carrying out in all qualifications
like engineering technology, medical sci-
ence, agriculture, economics, international
relations, and law.

CHRONICLES
1998-2001 1998 Founded as the “Chandmani—Erdene” college.
1998 School of Law and Management was founded.
2000 School of Economics and Business Management was established.

2001-2004 2001 First extramural postgraduates of Law and Management School.


2002 Renamed as the “Mongolian National College” due to the 36th Decree
by the Minister of Education, Culture & Science on February 06, 2002.
2003 Accredited due to the meeting decision by the National Commission for
Accreditation of Education on May 29, 2003.
2004 Expanded as the “Mongolian National University” and the School of
Travel and Tourism was founded”.

2005 School of International Relations was founded.


2005-2010 2006 MNU was selected as the “Best University of the Year”.
2007 School of Mathematics and Information Technology was founded.
2008 School of Mining and Civil Engineering was founded.
2009 MNU was selected as the “Best University” by the Mongolian Market-
ing & Management Institute in 2009 and obtained the 2nd accreditation
valid till 2019.

2010-2016 2010 MNU introduced ISO 9001:2008 International Certification standard in


the higher education sector of Mongolia and became a first it’s certif-
icate holder.
2011 MNU became a member of Accreditation Council for Business Schools
and Programs of USA and attestation was made valid till 2016 due to
the 560th decree by the of Minister of Education, Culture and Science.
2012 MNU acquired university status and expanded as the largest school in
Mongolia.
2013 School building # 3 with capacity of 10000 students was put into op-
eration.
2014 Medical school was founded and it would have it’s own academic
teaching hospital in future.
2014 MNU was selected as the Best University at the “Grand Expo-2014”.
2015 School of Architecture and Design was founded.
2015 MNU became a member of International Association of Universities.
2016 School of Education was established.
2016 Dormitory for students and teachers with 1000-bed capacity was put
into operation.
2016 School building # 5 with capacity of 3000 students was put into op-

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Mongolian National University has been conducting
numerous activities for expanding foreign relations and cooper-
ation, rendering all kinds of assistance in academic or research
works, enrolling lecturers and students in scholarship and train-
ing programs of foreign universities, learning advanced technol-
ogies and sharing experience from highly developed countries,
jointly implementing projects and programs with them and ar-
ranging business appointments and visit. To that end, we made
official visits to the USA, the Republic of South Korea, the Peo-
ple’s Republic of China, Russian Federation, Taiwan, Vietnam as
well as India, mutually agreed on some issues and have been
implementing some projects with them.
We are collaborating with over 50 universities of 26
countries and at the moment 160 students have been studying
abroad in those universities in the scope of the Student Ex-
change Program.

MINING ENGINEERING SCHOOL

The Mining Engineering school prepares engineers


and specialists with 11 major subjects in the mining engi-
neering which is a leading sector and in a great demand
of Mongolia and has over 40 highly skilled professors and
above 1000 students.
It has successfully accomplished numerous academic
activities in training competent specialists, who are able to
work in large global and multinational companies and cor-
porations, with professional skills and ability up to the world

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

The General Hospital is to provide Mongolians with mod-


ern cutting-edge medical diagnosis and treatment with
global standard, and to create training and research base
for the Medical School of the Mongolian National Univer-
sity.

The foreign and domestic physicians and spe-


cialists with high professional qualification at the
MNU’s hospital would provide high quality med-
ical services through cutting-edge diagnostic and
treatment medical equipment and apparatus.
There would render medical assistance in the 16
speciailzed directions such as, internal disease,
general disease and oncology, traumatic surgery,
obstetrics, gynaecology, and pediatrics. It would
be with 220-bed capacity and the ambulatory
care clinic can serve 500 clients in one day. The
hospital should have European standards as to
building, engineering facility, medical equipment
and information system.
