1.2.2 Spindle installed in upright

Position and adjusted 900 to conveyor
Belt surface.
3

Attach one spindle and elaso-mount to prepared

mounting bracket on conveyor structure.

Insert Assembly carrier into elasto-mount.

5

Place the second elasto-mount onto assembly carrier

and attach the spindle to the second
prepared bracket.

6
Loosen stop screws on both elasto-mount
7b 7c
Turn stop screws until they Tighten again stop screws
touch the arms of the elasto- one full turn (3600)
mounts.

7a

7d

Lock check nuts on both stop screws.

Note: No further adjustment of stop
screwsis necessary.
8

Rotate assembly carrier upwards so that the blades are

located below the belt but without actually touching it. If
necessary, the assembly carrier must be lowered by
unscrewing the collar nuts. The assembly carrier must then
be secured by lightly tightening the U-bolts.

9
Adjust scraper until blades lightly
touch the belt and assembly carrier
tube is parallel to the belt surface.
10

Release the U-bolts and center

the scraper on belt. Tighten
the u-bolts again.

11

Use a 200 mm workshop set square

to adjust the assembly carrier at right
angles to the belt.
The set square is placed on the belt
so that its vertical edge is centered on
the assembly carrier tube.
Rotate then the aseembly carrier tube
until the blade edge is 15 mm away
from the square.
12

Tighten both U-bolts on each

elasto-mount.

12a
Lock both check nuts
of the U-bolts on each
elasto-mount.
13
Check that all blades contact
the belt for the full blade width.
If not, then each individual
blade must be loosened,
realigned with respect to the
belt and retightened.
Note: It may be necessary to
flatten the belt by fitting an
additional straight roller
underneath the belt if the belt
does not run in an exactly flat
manner in the scraping area.

14
15

Tighten both lower collar nuts until the scraper

blades are in the correct scraping position.
Note: This adjustment should be perfomed where
possible when the belt is running.

16
The correct scraping position can
be checked by means of a
workshop set square as described
under item 11. The reference
distance is about 15 mm Avoid over
adjustment of the blades.

Correct Incorrect
17

Tighten upper collar nuts of

both elasto-mounts, and
secure the entire screw fitting
by means of the counter nuts.

18
Check the gap between the stop screw
and the elasto-mount arm.

18a
Note: When no gap exists any more the
scraper has not been adjusted correctly or
the blades are worn out.
1. Location of the Installation 1.2 Installation on the discharge Pulley

According to the ‘B9S’ drawing, fix the mounting brackets

so that the angle between the block edge and the lowest
0 0
point of the drum is between 30 to 45 .

The spindles can be installed in the upright or suspended position

2. installation of the scraper

2.1 Preliminaries
Attach the adjesting spindles to mounting brackets

2.2 Mounting of the elasto-mounts

The elasto-mounts and the assembly carrier are to be
installed according to the installation requirements.

2.3 Adjustment of the elasto-mounts

Exert a downward force on the assembly carrier several
times to pre-tension the elasto-mounts and turn stop
screws until they touch the arms of the elasto-mounts.
Then, tighten stop screws one further full turn.

2.4 Position of the assembly carrier

The positioning of the assembly carrier has to be carried
Out as follows :
1. Centre the assembly carier on the belt and fix with the
U-screws.
2. Rotate the assembly carrier so that the lock cleaning
edge is correct angles to the belt, as described 1.1 and
1.2.

2.5 Commissioning
Fix the assembly carrier by means of the U-screws in the
elasto-mounts and secure by means of the lock nuts.

2.6 Commissioning with the belt running

When pre-tensioning, check the following :

• the application pressure should be datermined so that the

scraping blocks are only lightly in contact with the belt
surface.

• application pressure should be identical on both the right

and the left side adjusting spindles.

• the angle of attack of the scraping block should remain

inclined against the direction of the belt travel.

2.7 Final inspection

Head pulley scraper type B9S with reversing spring assembly
Ensure the collar nuts are secured on the adjusting
spindles.

Adjust the stop screws of the elasto-mounts in order to

Leave a gap of 5mm (2mm for reversible belts). Check
That all U-screws of the assembly carrier are secured.

2.8 Reversing operation

For reversing belt conveyors, reversing springs must be
used.
