COMMENT:

These vehicles are fitted with a power fuse on the

"battery/starter" wiring (B).

This part must not be removed from the wiring in

any circumstances.

It can be checked by checking its continuity using

an ohmmeter (battery disconnected).

If this power fuse is damaged, it is essential to

change the wiring as the fuse cannot be removed
or repaired.

To prevent short circuits, cover this fuse with its

red cover after each operation.

COMMENTS:
• On this type of instrument panel, only the glass can be changed. In the event of a fault on one of the other
components, the whole instrument panel must be changed.
• On these instrument panels, the bulbs cannot be changed (welded electroluminescent diodes).
• These instrument panels are fitted with an autodiagnostics system (see below).
• The instrument panel lighting rheostat is specific. Do not fit a rheostat designed for this type of instrument
panel on a vehicle fitted with an old generation instrument panel (destruction of the rheostat).

information from this computer (see Technical

Engine coolant temperature warning light 83
OPERATION

The coolant temperature information for this

warning light is now supplied by the injection
computer.

A thermistor located on the engine transmits a re-

sistance variation in line with the coolant tempe-
rature to the injection computer.

When the ignition is switched on, the injection

computer switches on the coolant temperature
warning light on the instrument panel for ap-
proximately 3 seconds after which it goes out
(warning light operation check).

In the event of engine over-heating (temperature

above 118 °) the injection computer will switch on
this warning light.

NOTE: the coolant temperature sensor located on

the engine has two detectors:
- a detector which provides the injection
computer with the coolant temperature infor-
mation.
- a detector which provides the indicator on the
instrument panel with the coolant temperature
information.
