IOT Based Water Level And Quality Monitoring System In

Overhead Tanks

Introduction
Water is most profitable and valuable source since it is the fundamental need of all the
individuals. Now a day we are facing many issues regarding water wastage and quality
monitoring in tanks. This paper proposes a proficient method to water level and quality
observing in the overhead tanks to lessen the present water wastage and give better water
quality. The venture is about overhead tank checking framework that is we screen the level
of water in the overhead tank and furthermore we decide nature of water. Firstly, we have
the issue of filling the tanks which are situated far, and for this we have executed a little
hypothesis that we put level sensors in the tank, that level sensors detect the water level in
the tank and sends us message about water level in the tank. Also, the second preferred
standpoint is that really, we utilize different quality parameter sensors like pH and turbidity
sensors to screen the water quality in the tank. In light of level of water, we can choose how
much measure of water is required for specific area and give adequate measure of water as
opposed to squandering water. The Raspberry Pi B+ is utilized as core controller. The
composed framework applies to an IOT module for getting to sensor information from center
controller to cloud. The sensor information can be seen on cloud. At last information will be
assembled and through Wi-Fi information can be seen on versatile device through android
app. Based on data in the app workers will be sent to clean the tank This proposed framework
is a minimal effort, wireless, multi-sensor arrange for exact water monitoring in tanks.

Background
Datta Meghe College of engineering is reputed institute in Navi Mumbai. This college
is established in 1988. DMCE is inviting interested bidder to submit the proposal for Water
Level Monitoring System for multi stroy apartment using IOT. This system will provide ease
of monitoring the water level and also able to easily identify the lick age in the tank.
Environmental and water quality monitoring are key to measuring and understanding the
chemical and biological quality of water and for taking reactive remedial action. Over the
coming years, monitoring of waterbodies will increase within Europe, in order to comply with
the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD, Council Directive 2000/60/EC),
and globally, owing to pressure from climate change. The establishment of high-quality long-
term monitoring programmes is regarded as essential if the implementation of the WFD is to
be effective1.
Proposal Guideline
This request for proposal represents the requirement for an open and competitive
process. Proposal will be accepted until 6 pm, August 26 2018 any proposal received after
this date and time will be return to the sender. All costs must be itemized to include an,
explanation of all fees and costs. Contract terms and condition will be negotiation upon
selection of the winning bidder. All contractual terms and condition will be subject to review
by DMCE legal department and also include scope, budget and other necessary items.

Project purpose and Description

The purpose of this project:

The goal of this project is to design and manage a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) that
helps to monitor the quality of water with the help of information sensed by the sensors
immersed in water, so as to keep the water resource within a standard described for
domestic usage. The major aim of this investigation is to actualize or create a such sort of
organization that can calculate the water level using microcontroller consequently. As a SMS,
all these comes about of estimation can be sent to the cell phone of client at every ask. The
user can send the message to the system to know the water level details of the tank and also
be used to regulate the pump spontaneously by turning OFF the pump when the critical level
of water in tank is reached and send the message to the user that the water in the tank is
full. This is aimed to control the level of water with support of ultrasonic sensor and GSM
technology.

Description:

DMCE is seeking a provider to utilized the IOT technology to create an IOT based
Project that is user friendly, simple to used, provide the detailed information about Water
level and quality of the water in tank and also to identify the lick-age has occur in the tanks
or not. The application design and layout should be essentially pleasing, simple for User to
navigate. It must be completely secure against intrusion.

Project Scope
The capability of water quality monitoring system can be enhanced to obtain more
efficient reliable results. The number of parameters to be sensed can be increased by the
addition of multiple sensors to measure dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand
(COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), ammonia nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate.
The system can be further upgraded using wireless sensor networks. The system can be
expanded to monitor hydrologic, air pollution, industrial and agricultural production and so
on. It has widespread application and extension value. So, we can control the Pollution of the
water also control through IoT.By using the monitoring system we can easily prevent the
wastage of water and the water will be save to our next generations. Work can be carried on
to include controlling the supply of water.
