CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY
1.1 Background
To get a job in the office or at an agency, we must make a request or request to the part to the
employee. The petition is not delivered orally but in writing in the form of a working letter.
Changes and technological advances have an impact on all areas. Including the procedure of
making and sending a letter of application. The form of a job application letter is increasingly
diverse and making it more practical. Nevertheless, there are principles and key elements of a
permanent application letter that is maintained.
CV will always be used for anyone who wants to apply for a job because CV is part of one of
the conditions that must be fulfilled so that the applicant can be accepted or failed. So we should
not be too dismissive about the existence of this CV. I created this paper so that the public can
understand and know how about the CV because without the CV, the applicant job may be very
small because this is part of the requirements of a company to someone who wants to apply for
work.

2. To know the function of the CV
3. To know the general structure of the CV
CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION
The meaning of CV in the divide of 2 sense, namely curiculum and vitae. The Curiculum
itself means as all courses collectively arranged and planned regularly by the school or higher
education. Vitae which means everything that is vital (important) and associated with a
continuous life history of a person. With a short meaning CV is a list of curriculum vitae. In
addition to writing the name, it is necessary to include an academic degree but a social degree
such as Raden Mas, Raden Mas Airport and so is rarely needed. Citizenship is usually optional.
In vitae for continuing education is often also required to include the desired educational plan,
such as diploma course or Master's degree leading to PHD degree and others.
The CV is useful for applying for a job, to meet the requirements of the research proposal
(as project leader), to continue education and so on. In accordance with its usefulness and the
purpose of manufacture, then the vitae is not solely containing personal data. Vitae is concerned
with the details of 'what' and 'who' you are, so include your personality. The Curriculum Vitae
(CV) is a document that briefly describes who you are, what you have done in the past, what
your experience is about the job being proposed, and whether you are the right person or not to
be chosen among other candidates. Therefore, in addition to the contents must be complete, brief,
and clear, also must look attractive. However, keep in mind that the vitae must be scientific in
nature that is not emotive.
2.3 The general structure of the CV
1) Personal data
This section contains your name, address, email, mobile phone and other personal
identities. Do not forget to include your contact or email number because that is the only
way a recruiter can call you back if it meets the specified criteria. Do not let everyone be
impressed with your CV but cannot contact for the next process.
2) Education
This section describes the educational background and its relationship to the intended
work. There are people who make CV explain from kindergarten, elementary, junior high
school to college. This is not wrong but in many ways it is not very relevant. Things that
may be important are education from high school and above including if there is a special
non-formal education that you follow. You may include lower educational items only if you
think you have a particular relevance or have specific information to communicate.
3) Work experience
This is the part most viewed by recruiters. Work experience provides a picture of whether
a candidate already has enough or limited flight hours. Recruiters can also determine
whether the candidate can immediately adapt to the new organization or whether he needs a
long adjustment. Therefore this section should clearly indicate what you are doing, the name
of the company where the previous workplace, what you are doing there.
So do not just write for example once worked in the Marketing department of XYZ
company. But explain once working as Account Representative in charge of finding and
developing customers in one province and one of your achievements can get 100 new
customers in a month which is a record in XYZ company. This information will help to
understand the scope of work done, the skills it possesses and can estimate the added value
that a candidate has. If you have a lot of work experience, list relevant and related jobs to
show that you have potential in a new job.
4) Skill Held
Sometimes you need to explain in CV skills what have been owned as a process of
learning and experience of previous work. Often people write these skills briefly such as:
able to communicate well, can work in teams, quickly learn new things. Such explanations
do not add value because all candidates do the same.
You need to enter a list of previously-attended training to give you an idea of how far you
have grown and what insights you already have. Do not enter all the training because the
amount will be very long. Select relevant and targeted target organization.
6) Achievement
This is an important part in addition to Work Experience that explains the uniqueness of
the individual as well as the achievement in a particular field. You can explain briefly the
achievements in work, education or in other social fields.
Example:
Many people feel not having enough achievement. Try to remember again you must have
achieved something that added value and uniqueness of yourself. Do not forget the
achievements in the field of community or things outside the job also appeals to a recruit to
be explored further.
In addition to things that are directly related to the job. You need to give a little picture of
the activities undertaken in the community. This will show that you can divide the time and
have a broader perspective, not just a job. Briefly describe what it does, your role in the
organization and the achievements it gains.
Example:
END
3.1 Conclusion
So this paper about CV was made, hopefully can better understand the form and writing of
CV like what for job applicants can write it properly and correctly and hopefully the job
applicants get the job he wants.
Because CV is your self-image, make the best time to write clearly. Take advantage of also
to explain the uniqueness of yourself that makes the difference with others.
