CLOSING UNIT REPORT

INSPECTION DATE: 10 FEB 2019

Unit was located ADES WAREHOUSE Saudi Arabia it is a 14 station unit with PLC control system.

Findings:

Accumulator bottles:

All 28 accumulator bottles installed. The four bottle manifolds(flange type) and bottle racks have the
capacity for twenty eight (28). 15 Gallon, top loaders with 1-1/4” flange type port.

Air/hydraulic pumps:

All three pumps are 60:1 8-1/2” type and are in place.

Air Pressure switches: one is for controlling up to 3,000 psi .

Air Lubricator, air filters: (1ea.)

The air filter and lubricator is still in place.

Y- strainers: (5 ea.)

All Y- strainers are in place.

Air gauges:

All four air pressure gauges are in working order. Consist of one air system pressure and three regulator
gauges.

Hydraulic gauges/digital

Four manifold gauges (bottle) are in order, Panel gauges are in good condition and of Dyanalco
manufacturers.
CLOSING UNIT REPORT

Electric pump module:

One triplex pump, missing data plates on, have 1-3/8” plungers in unit.

Electric motors: Pump is belt driven from a 50 HP ETM electric motor, power requirements
460V/3ph/60hz.

Motor starter: One motor starter panel in good condition and in place. Motor starter controls have
detent in hand operation mode. Belt guards are in place and in good condition.

Valves:

1. Annular selector valve: ¼”(SPM type) Barksdale.


2. Upper pipe ram selector valve: 1” Barksdale.
3. Blind ram selector valve: 1” Barksdale.
4. Lower pipe ram selector valve: 1” Barksdale.
5. Upper choke selector valve: 1” Barksdale. Not in use.
6. Lower choke selector valve: 1” Barksdale. Not in use.
7. Upper kill selector valve: 1” Barksdale. Not in use.
8. Spare selector Valve: 1“Barksdale. Not in use.
9. Choke line: Selector valve 1” Barksdale.
10. Kill line: Selector valve: 1” Barksdale.
11. Emergency kill: Selector valve: 1” Barksdale..
12. Gut line Selector valve: 1” Barksdale.
13. HCR 4 Selector valve: 1” Barksdale.
14. HCR 5 Selector valve: 1” Barksdale.
15. Bypass Selector Valve: 1” Barksdale.

All above valves, air actuator cylinders and all connecting air tubing are in place and appear to be in
good general condition.

PLC cabinet:

The PLC cabinet consists of a fourteen station system; stainless steel air purged cabinet non-explosion
proof type. All PLC modules were found in place as well as air solenoids for the air actuators. Battery
Backup not available. Purge relief valve, spark arrestors, pilot lights, filters, regulators, gauges, oil
pressure transducers/switch, and circuit breaker were available and in place. Green/red light push
button is not found good condition its broken,also black push button broken.
CLOSING UNIT REPORT

Annular Regulator TR5:

Air motor installed for remote control. Hand control valve on unit is in place an operational. Equipped
with 1-1/2” piping.

Manifold regulator: MTR5:

1” piping with selector valve.

Air receiver: (1 ea.)

Air tank is in place with data plate, pressure gauge and pressure relief valve in calibration date.
Manchester make.

Alarm system:

Shear ram cover alarm switch is not available.

Observations:

The BOP accumulator control system appears to be in good general condition. Assessment without
pressurized the unit

Pressure relief valves: (2 each)

System pressure relief valve on valve manifold is 3300psi and 3500psi.

Recommendations:

 Change unit from 14 stations to 16 stations as per Aramco requirements. Remote and central
panel from CAD for upgrade as per OEM quotation.
 Inspect all 1”selector valves and piping and manifold to 1”.

 Change ¼”(SPM type annular) into 1-1/2” Annular selector valve.


 Conduct 5 year bottle inspection on the existing 28 ea. 15 gallon bottles.
 Conduct 2.6yrs Air tank inspection.
 Inspect for and remove all 1” schedule 80 manifold piping and pump isolation valves. Install
A106, Gr. B schedule 160 pipe, inspect all pipe thread, remove all Teflon tape and assemble
using pipe thread sealant Loctite 545.(If found).
 Replace all 5 needle valves.
 Replace all 4 combo valves.
 Required battery backup for PLC panels.
 Required Shear ram alarm switch on unit
 Required hydraulic alarm system on master panel of unit.
 Required 4nos 2”face type accumulator manifold gauges 0-6k psi.
 Sand blast and NDT inspect, clean and paint reservoir tank and all pipe works. Remove unit from
transportation skid and properly attach unit to transport skid.
 Clean reservoir and fill with new hydraulic oil.
 Sand blast transportation skid, inspect, repair and paint transport skid and house.
 Inspect and recondition triplex pump electric motor.
 Complete overhaul of triplex pump.
 Install new motor control switches without hand detent.
 Inspect and clean motor starters.
 Inspect air receiver and calibrate pressure relief valve.
 Calibrate, inspect all gauges. Replace as necessary.
 Install new bleed off valves.
 Install new switch for shear ram cover.
 Install major repair kits in both TR5 regulators.
