hungry
for love?
Are you hungry for love, unconditional love? Because unconditional is what
you need. You’ve blown it, made a mess of life, and deep inside you wonder if
anyone could love you the way you are. God does, and that’s why God let His
only son, Jesus Christ, die on a cross almost 2,000 years ago. Jesus died for you
because God knew you would fail to measure up. That’s how much God loves
you. The Bible, God’s book, says, “While you were a sinner, a person who failed
and missed God’s standards, Jesus died for you.” But that’s not all--God also
raised Jesus from the dead, and because Jesus lives forever, you can too. You
can receive unconditional love and a new start on life.

improving gait, improving endurance and ability to transfer one’s

Occupational Therapy works to improve function above the

to care for themselves. An Occupational Therapists focuses on ac-
tivities of daily living (ADL’s) such as grooming, strengthening the
upper body and improving endurance and ability to care for one’s
personal needs.
Speech Therapy helps with communication needs as well as nu-
tritional needs. Speech Therapists work to improve chewing/swal-
lowing – the ability to eat food and therefore gain strength and
ability to care for one’s self. Speech Therapists also work on com-
munication, improving the ability to make one’s needs known to
others, which in turn improves ability to care one’s self.
All of the above professionals have one goal and that is to return
their resident to their previous level of independence. In many cas-
es they have amazing success stories; the nursing home routinely
discharges residents to their previous living arrangements when
there is no longer a need for 24 hour care.
Outside of the benefits of a traditional rehabilitation program,
nursing homes offer socialization through organized activities,
education to residents and families on diseases and conditions af-
fecting independence, and good old fashioned support and enthu-
siasm. Residents are encouraged to be as independent as safely
