INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANT’S REPORT

To the Board of Directors and Stockholders

Markman Capital Management, Inc.
Minneapolis, Minnesota

We have examined the investment return of the accompanying schedule of performance presentation of
Markman Capital Management, Inc.’s (MCMI) Active Trading Strategy composite for the period September
30, 2008 to September 30, 2009. MCMI’s management is responsible for the schedule of performance
presentation. Our responsibility is to express an opinion on the investment return based on our examination.

Our examination was conducted in accordance with attestation standards established by the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and, accordingly, included examining, on a test basis, evidence
supporting MCMI’s schedule of performance presentation and performing such other procedures as we
considered necessary in the circumstances. We believe that our examination provides a reasonable basis for
our opinion.

Because we were not engaged to and did not perform an examination of the completeness, valuation and
accuracy of information maintained by the custodian, Schwab Institutional, a division of Charles Schwab &
Co., Inc used by MCMI and, therefore we express no opinion on such matters.

In our opinion, the schedule referred to above presents, in all material respects, the investment return of
MCMI’s Active Trading Strategy composite for the period September 30, 2008 to September 30, 2009.

This report does not relate to any composite presentation of MCMI other than MCMI’s Active Trading
Strategy composite.

(IRR) on the portfolio. All broker commissions, margin interest, realized and unrealized gains and losses are
included in the calculation of returns. Investment transactions are recorded on a trade-date basis and
initial cost is the value at deposit.

Investment advisory fees incurred by the client may vary and certain accounts are set up to pay the
investment advisory fees outside of the individual trading account included in this composite. Advisory fees
for accounts of employees and family members are negotiable. Review your Statement of Management Fee
invoice, as the custodian does not verify the accuracy of the calculation.
