COMMUNIQUÉ
With a view to further improving customer service, the National Transport Authority (NTA) and the
Mauritius Post Limited (MPL) have the pleasure to inform vehicle owners that, as from Wednesday 20
July 2011, payment of road tax in respect of all motor vehicles and trailers may also be effected at
any post office in Mauritius on production of all relevant documents.
Payment can be made either by cash or cheque drawn on the “National Transport Authority“. Where
payment is made by cheque, the cheque should be either a personal cheque of the owner of the vehicle
or an office cheque.
Owners of public service vehicles and goods vehicles should ensure that their public service vehicle
licences or carrier’s licences cover the period for which the road tax shall be paid.
The service at all post offices will be available from 08h15 to 15h15 during weekdays and from 08h15
to 11h15 on Saturdays. Exceptionally, the post offices listed below will provide extended services up to
16h15 on weekdays and 12h00 on Saturdays during the last two working days of each month.
