Course Objectives:
By the end of the course student should be able to:
1 To study the characteristics of a PN diode and to design various application circuits like clippers, clampers,
regulators and rectifiers.
2 To learn the input and output junction characteristics of BJT and FET and to calculate the required
parameters.
3 To analyze the frequency response of single and multistage amplifiers.

4 To analyze linear wave shaping circuits for various inputs.

5 To design and analyze different multivibrator circuits.

Course Outcomes:
By the end of the course student should be able to:
1 Measure the important parameters of a PN diode such as cut-in voltage, static resistance and dynamic
resistance and use it in various electronic circuits such as rectifiers, linear wave shaping circuits, clippers,
clampers etc.
2 Construct and design different rectifier and voltage regulation circuits that are used in regulated Power
supplies.
3 Design an amplifier circuits for the given specifications, to be used at different applications.
4 Design and simulate the given circuit to meet the desired specifications using multisim software and verify
for its functionality.
5 Design and analyze different multivibrator circuits.
