• The students will be instructed to move around the room and outside
area with their iPads to find the various task cards. On each task card
there will be a word and picture i.e. A picture of a Dad with the word
‘Dad’.
• The peg will also have two questions attached to it such as ‘What is
your dad’s name?’. As well as ‘What is your dad’s favourite thing to do
on the weekend?’.
• They will then be asked to take a photo of the task card and then
record themselves answering the questions. App: Book Creator
• After ten to fifteen minutes of doing this the students will be asked to https://bookcreator.com
return to their tables with their iPads and open the app called, Book
Creator.
• The teacher will then explain to the students that they need to add the
picture that they took on one slide and then the following slide must be

Conclusion:
• The students will be invited to return to the mat with their iPads and
the teacher will project the Seesaw app on to the big screen which will
also have all of the chidden’s books on it at this point.
• The teacher will then go through some of the students’ book and will
invite students to talk about the process of making their ‘My Family’
book.
• The teacher should then ask the students what their favourite part of
the lesson was as well as asking them to raise their hand to share
something new that they learnt.
This may need some prompt questions such as:
- “Was anyone surprised about how many different families there
are in the world?”
- “Did anyone learn something about one of their classmates that
they would like to share?”
• The book read in the intro will then be briefly revisited by the teacher
talking about how there are many types of families and how everyone
comes from different backgrounds. As well as the importance of
accepting everyone and making everyone feel as though they belong.
