A. System Design
a. Product and Service Design

The service design of Movers is contained by a three-floored building. This building

holds different categories/groups of people in each floor. The building is divided into 3 parts
namely (1) The Aspirers, (2) The Achievers, and (3) The Vibes.

The Aspirers

Services offered here are contextualized to the people who belong to the youth
and young adults. They are composed of young working professionals, students, and young
freelancers. In this floor, it operates almost the same as to other arising co-working spaces
which gives coffee, drinks, food, internet connections, and comfortable furniture.

The Achievers

Services offered here are targeted to adults who look for places to work with
their office work, and other adult stuff. This place is designed for a more serious and work
friendly environment.

The Vibes

This place is targeted to the people who just look for a space where they can
play their video games, chill, and watch movies with other people they want to share the moment with.

b. Strategic Capacity Planning

The division of floors is basically the whole strategy of the business’ capacity. However,
in order to not constrain the groups to their respective categories, the halls of the
building are also designed to cater those who want to work with people from the
different group. Stairs and elevators are also functional to help them bridge with each
other.

working spaces which gives coffee, drinks, food, internet connections, and comfortable
furniture. Services offered in the second floor are targeted to adults who look for places to work
with their office work, and other adult stuff. This place is designed for a more serious and work
friendly environment. This place on the top most floor, for the Vibes is targeted to the people
who just look for a space where they can play their video games, chill, and watch movies with
other people they want to share the moment with.

e. Design of Work Systems

In terms of the design of work systems, Movers designates different teams of staff to
the different floors of the building. The assigning of staff team is based from their own
specialty and belongingness.

f. Location Planning and Analysis

The location of the Mover’s first space is targeted to be in Iloilo City in Small
Ville. It is considered to be the heart of the city in terms of busyness and rush
for work. The planning of the construction is targeted to start on December of
2020.

B. Quality
a. Management of Quality

The quality of services is more focused on the facilities and personal service
provided by the staff. Furniture, computers, and lighting are daily checked by
the maintenance crew in order to provide the best tangible service they can
give. Next is the intangible one which is provided by their staff of assistance, and
staff of supervision.

C. Supply Chain Management

D. Inventory Management and Scheduling

a. Inventory Management

Scheduling is concerned with the efforts to see that the resources of a manufacturing
system are well utilized so that their products and services are produced within reasonable
accord with the customer demand. Numerous planning and scheduling methods have been
developed for discrete part manufacturing systems.

b. Aggregate Planning

In an advanced execution for the projected production or delivery of services, Movers

has planned their operations and execution for the next 3 months. This is to give the
management an idea as to what quantity of materials and others resources are to be
procured and when, so that the total costs of operations of the organization is kept to
the minimum over that period.

Given the increasing demand because of the academic calendars of schools are about
to start again and the constant working force is still at hand from employees, they
have planned to hire two (2) more staff to cater the enlarging size of visits for each
floor.

c. MRP and ERP (if applicable)

Movers does not employ Materials Requirements Planning because it’s “not
being” a product company provider. Instead, it banks on Enterprise Resource
Planning as a business process management software that allows an organization to
use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate
many back office functions related to technology, services, and human resource.
Movers is also run by people who work for Amazon Store. Systems that provide
sufficient information to bind all the people involved in management are very
useful for the success of its operations.

d. JIT and Lean Operations

Just-in-Time manufacturing is focused on efficiency, while Lean manufacturing is

focused on using efficiency to add value for the customer. Just-in-Time
manufacturing can be practiced on its own or as one step in the lean manufacturing
process. Movers focuses on the Lean manufacturing method through its service
providing mechanisms. Lean manufacturing in Movers is when they construct their
Process strategy. The employees of Movers deal with their customers in an orderly
manner. Stub are given to customers as they enter the area. The stub contain
information that the customers may need. Once inside, all food and drinks are self-
service. The employees thrive on the concept of honesty where they do not track
the customers’ activity. When they leave the area, customers declare what items
they have used and consumed, and the employees take their word without further
questioning.

e. Maintenance
In Movers, they ensure maintenance by personally checking the available free coffee
and iced tea to their visitors. Cleanliness inside the space is entrusted also to the
visitors giving them integrity. The next step in the lean process is to examine every
activity involved in manufacturing your product, to understand which activities add
value and which don't. Then, redesign your manufacturing process to remove
activities that don't add value, as far as it's possible. Once everything that does not
add value has been removed from the value stream, your manufacturing process
should flow more efficiently. At this stage in the process, lean manufacturing and just
in time are identical. The next step in leaning manufacturing is to only manufacture
what your customer orders or requests, so that customer demand or "pull" drives your
production. This is similar to just in time in that new parts are ordered based on short-
term requirements, but the driving force behind the efficiency of the process is
customer value rather than cost reduction.-all utilized with their personal and
consumer centered services.
