Chapter 1 How to Read Basic Specifications
1.1 Basic Terminology ■ M mode (MANUAL MODE)
Terms used for the integrated controller are described in this section. Refers to the direct operation mode by the operator.
In this mode, the MV of each controller is controlled by the operator; therefore, it is isolated
(1) PV operation unrelated to automatic control from the controller itself or a sequencer.
PV, abbreviated from Process Value, refers to value computed to be displayed or
controlled after the input signal from a sensor such as a differential pressure transmitter

When controlling elements are inverters, the way FO and FC are called is not correct;
however, these symbols are applied to conveniently indicate the direct/reverse directions
of MV and AO outputs.
Generally, the output of inverters is in many cases changed from 4mA to 20mA when MV
is changed from 0 to 100%; thus, FC is applied.

Mix proportion contro
As for the mi feed raw mix proportion must be contro ed in order to obtain re uired chemica composition of the raw mea which is achieved b regu ar
samp ing and ana sis of the raw mea .
Each of the feed components wi be set to a certain percentage of tota feed. The proportioning wi be maintained at the set percentage of each individua feed
component irrespective of changes to the tota new feed rate.
The raw mixing contro s stem and -ra ana ing s stem in the aborator are connected to CS with the Ether net for on- ine contro from the resu t of -ra
ana er. Mix proportion ratio is set and ad usted automatica to keep the target va ue of LSF SM and IM.

Preheater exhaust gas is used to provide heat to the raw materia . Mi out et gas temperature is maintained constant so as to attain the stab e and acceptab e
dr ing conditions of raw materia . In order to keep mi out et gas temperature constant damper insta ed on gas duct from the preheater is contro ed
automatica to a preset va ue.
Water ma be spra ed on the raw materia if necessar big vibration of mi etc. In this case the CCR operator can se ect the other contro oop of the mi
out et gas temperature b ad usting the water f ow rate automatica .

The hot gas furnace (24.1-41) is used during co d startup condition or during the Ki n stoppage condition. The HGF sha be designed for 50 capacit of mi
operation.
To keep the mi out et temperature a preset va ue. The gas temperature is automatica contro ed b ad usting fue oi f ow rate to a pre-set va ue. This
contro can be done from the sub-contro pane (2414100SCP01). The target va ue of temperature is set b CCR operator.

1. Out ine of Functions


The aim of the coo er (37.1-01) operation is to achieve satisfactor coo ing for the c inker and thereb supp higher temperature of secondar air to the ki n
burner (33.1-02) and the f ash furnace burners (32.1-03) which is one of the essentia conditions for c inker burning.
To contro these conditions to optimum state the three contro oops are provided as described be ow.
( a ) Ki n hood pressure contro
To maintain satisfactor operating conditions for the ki n it is necessar to contro the secondar air vo ume in a rationa manner.
This air vo ume can be obtained and stabi i ed b keeping the static pressure of the ki n hood constant.
Thus the opening of suction damper for coo er vent fan (37.1-07a) is automatica contro ed so as to bring the hood s pressure to a constant va ue.
( b ) C inker a er thickness contro
In order to have a satisfactor ki n burning condition it is a so necessar to stabi i e the secondar air temperature together with the aforementioned
secondar air vo ume.
This secondar air temperature is corre ated with the c inker a er thickness on the coo er grate as we as with pressure drop in c inker bed of the coo ing
air. The c inker a er thickness is a so corre ated with the coo er grate speed.
Therefore the contro pressure P is ca cu ated from the out et pressure of fan for 1st 2nd and 3rd compartments (37.1-03d e and f) and the grate speed is
automatica contro ed according to the fo owing curve mentioned in Fig 1.

In ki n s stem with f ash furnace stab e operation can be achieved b introducing ade uate ca cinated raw mea into the ki n.
Therefore this ca cination rate has to be kept to the optimum va ue. The ca cination rate can be monitored through the exhaust gas temperature eaving from No. 5
c c one (TI32115 or 32125 or an average of both strings.).
As the raw mea temperature at the No. 5 c c one is corre ated to the exhaust gas temperature eaving from the No.5 c c one the properties (ca cination rate)
of the raw mea introduced into the ki n is maintained in a satisfactor condition b keeping the exhaust gas temperature eaving from the No.5 c c one to an
optimum va ue.
For this reason coa feed rate for the f ash furnace is automatica set from temperature contro er for exhaust gas eaving he No.5 c c one as cascade contro
oop.

Coo er vent air is used to provide heat to the raw materia . Mi out et gas temperature is maintained constant so as to attain the stab e and acceptab e dr ing
conditions of raw coa . In order to keep mi out et gas temperature constant damper insta ed on gas duct from the coo er fan (35.1-04g) is contro ed
automatica to a preset va ue.
Water ma be spra ed on the raw coa if necessar big vibration of mi etc. In this case the CCR operator can se ect the other contro oop of the mi out et
gas temperature b ad usting the water f ow rate automatica .

The hot gas furnace (35.1-16) is used during co d startup condition or during the Ki n stoppage. The HGF sha be designed for 70 capacit of mi operation.
The gas temperature is automatica contro ed b ad usting fue oi f ow rate to a pre-set va ue. This contro can be done b the sub-contro pane
(3511600SCP01). The target va ue of temperature is set b CCR operator.
