3 Connecting to the eNodeB

O & M cable connections on the DUL are as follows :

LMT A : Serial cable

LMT B : Ethernet Cable

Cable requirements are as follows :

 Straight Ethernet cable (RJ45 – RJ45)

 Serial cable (RJ45 – DB9)

4 COM Port definition

4.1 Serial connection

1) Launch PuTtY, make sure to choose Serial and change the COM port
settings to reflect which COM port you are using on your laptop. If you are
unsure about which COM port is being used by your device it can be
confirmed in the Windows Device Manager.

Start > Control Panel > Device Manager

Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) field and you will see which COM port is
being used by the Prolific USB-to-Serial Bridge. In this case it is COM5

5 Setting the laptop IP address

Your laptop needs to be configured to reach the node for the first time when
using the Ethernet connection and Element Manager Application and Support
(EMAS). EMAS is the Graphical User Interface towards the RBS, which enables
configuration of the eNodeB. This section describes changing the TCP/IP setting
on the laptop, according to the IP addressing strategy of the factory set IP
address. This is valid for Windows VISTA laptops.

In the taskbar bottom right, right click on the icon represented by the two
computers and the globe

Click on Network and Sharing Center

10 Integrate RBS – Onsite

For standalone commissioning i.e if no transmission to the OSS/BSIM platform is
available an IP signaling source requires to be plugged into the TN A port of the
DUL-20. The easiest is to use a CAT5 cable from another laptop or from a Hub.

Launch your FTP Server application on your laptop (Filezilla, Cerebus, Bison
FTP, BabyFTP etc)

1) Launch Element Manager

is located, this should be in C:/LTEConfig as the scriptfiles specifies this location
by default

RBS Logical name & VLAN should be copied from the xxx_site_installation.xml
scriptfile. For the Username and Password fields use anonymous.

Ensure that both Do not use Security Activation and Do not use IP Security
