Hello Everyone,

My name is Premchand Patil. And recently, i got selected in eInfochips and

Audience. Before sharing interview experience and questions, i really want to thank
Sameer sir, Shashank sir, Badri sir and Harika mam from placement cell for their
kind and earnest support.
I appeared for interviews in 3 companies and questions are as follows:

Audience:

Round 1: Initial written test at Vector which was comprised of evaluation of

C/C++ code snippets, theory questions questions, basic electronics,
digital electronics, Integrated ckts & applications, 8051 controller and
general aptitude questions.
Round 2: This was conducted at Vector Institute, Bangalore by Audience. And this
was comprised of general aptitude, digital electronics and evaluation of
C/C++ code snippets.

Next four were 4 technical rounds

Round 3: First, an introduction of myself.
Iterviewer reviewed Round 2 written test, in which he asked me to solve
questions which i did not attempt because negative marking. Here
basically, he wanted to check my problem solving approach. In this
discussion, he also asked for graphical representation of that aptitude question.
Then he asked me to write a program for adding into singly linked list
with descending order.
Then he asked me to write macro for setting particular bit. And then
from that he moved to the
Lvalue concept.
Then he asked few questions on OS concepts such as PIPE, FIFO and
Shared memory such as blocking/non-blocking, bounded/non-bounded.
Then he asked me to explain my BE project.
Asked approach in Vector project.
This whole discussion lasted for one and half hour.

Round 4: Again, an introduction of myself. In above round and in this as well,

he asked about hobbies into details, so be careful here.
Then he asked me to explain what is electronics with an assumption of
he being an illiterate.
Then he asked to write any program with recursion, and he asked for
difference between tailed and normal recursion.
Then he gave a basic ckt diagram and asked me to find transfer function
using laplace transform.
Then he asked to write a program for reversing the linked list with
changing links. Then he asked
to write that program with recursion.
Then he asked to explain difference between Process and Threads.
Then he asked to explain Semaphore.
The he gave me a problem on fork() system call.
How does 'make' command compiles only source codes which has been
modified?
WAP to overload '++' operator.
What is the difference between FILE * and File descriptor?
WAP to demonstrate Dynamic memory allocation.
Then he asked to explain TE project.
This round also lasted for one and half hour.

Round 5: In this round, i was asked to write a program for function which was
expected to remove vowels
from given character string.
This round was a complete discussion on this only program to optimize
this code which lasted for one hour or so.

Round 6: Later, I heard from other candidates that this was a director round. He
asked me few questions on my college academics. And he asked me to
analyze a binary tree with given information about
nodes with two children and nodes with one children.
This round lasted for just 15 minutes.

Round 7: This was HR round which conducted with the group discussion format.
Here, he asked for everyone's introduction. Then he asked
questions such as ' why audience?' . Then he asked for list of
parameters to test a white board marker pen. And then, he divided us into groups of
4. And asked to debate on ' Testing as a career '.

eInfochips:

Again, this interview started with my introduction.

Then he asked to explain my BE project. Asked me about interfaces I
have worked on.
How does bus arbitration works in dual master I2C interface.
What is Semaphore and give a practical example.
WAP to toggle a particular bit.
Questions on XBEE module, as my project consisted of it.
Basic questions on OOPL concepts.
He threw puzzle at me. There are 9 similar balls and in these balls,
only one is defected with less weight. Find out which one is defective.
He wanted a optimized solution for this.
I was supposed to attend two technical rounds, but since my 1st
technical round was taken by senior project manager, my interview was over
with this only one round.

Attrialogics:

In this company, i faced two telephonic technical rounds. Here, most of

the questions were basic
of which i remember very few which are as follows:
What is feof()?
Why sometimes malloc allocates memory with initialized to 0?
How to modify a constant without using pointer?
Which memory sections will you observe if your program gets terminated
abruptly?

I suggest new students in vector to keep revising basics of electronics,

digital electronics and aptitude in the first month of the course. Friends, Do not
worry about placements, work hard during 6 months of course, complete each and
every assignment, take each exam seriously & at the end of course you will surely
get placed.
At last, I appreciate the complete Vector Team to provide such a good
institution.
